I thought you were going today....MMMMMM Ill have to see about next week!

As for the shorties, I dont think you will get much out of them BUT, you can get into some Doug Thorley LTs for the same price as some of the shorties and if you research them, you will find they are as good if not better then other LTs two to three times as much. I love mine!
If you are interested, let me or Larry know. We can get you the name of the distributer out this way. They were around $400 or $500 delivered to my door!

I'm not looking to pay full price so that's why I'm looking at the shorties, some guy's got them for under 300. and I'll be he'll drop them down since he's been trying to get rid of them for awhile. He's got them on e-bay right now, I put in 150......see where that gets me.

Are you referring to Trent Diaz's car? If so, that thing is an absolute beast.

I am headed to the track friday night for the first time in the Camaro, and was looking for some helpful tips for launching this thing. Coming from an awd turbo car with antilag, I feel a little out of place

Which TC mode seems to work the best? Competition mode, or have everything off? Keep in mind it is a stock car, with stock tires. Thanks in advance guys!

you only want traction off. dont turn everything off or competitive mode. it might actually save you in case you lost control of the car. so hit traction button once only.

start with 23psi on the rear tires (21 seemed to be the best that worked out for us) and you would want to start with 2500 RPM launch and then see what the car does. spins, go lower, bogs then go higher. power shifting helps too, except if it spins in the 1st-2nd shift, then just do 2nd to 3rd and 4rd to fourth power shifts. people dont recommend power shifting as it makes the clutch wear faster, but I had no problem with that (my stock clutch made it till 35k miles. but after I got my cam installed, the clutch didnt handle the power and abuse.

also you may want to go as high as you can in the front tires. I dont know if it actually works or not, but thats what hardcore drivers do to get every little bit out of the car and trap higher

hope this helps.... im sure you will get more feedback from the actual drag racers here

Don't use Comp mode unless you have tried it before and feel comfortable at the line doing it.
Take off both TC and stability. Some people leave stability on but I actually knocked off enough time that I don't use it.
Stock tires, don't go through water box. Try and do a little burn out to clean tires off. lower air pressure to 25 psi
Depending on if your an auto or manual the rpms are different.
I'm a manual so I go off at about 3500 rpms but ride the clutch out a little then punch it. If you dump the clutch at anything over 3500-4000 you'll just spin the tires.
This is just my experiance. I've got mods so it's not going to do me any good telling me you my times.

I for the life of me haven't been able to get my 60 under 2.0 yet. Do /did you have the stock clutch?

Thanks man. It's a m6 car, so we'll see how it goes. I should get plenty of passes, so hopefully I can get this thing dialed in. I think at the last pepsi event I got in like 11 or 12 passes?

you do know that comp mode or turning everything off has zero effects right?? stability wont kick in unless you lose control and the car slides on you (and it take a hard one to activate it) also yes forgot to mention... slip the clutch.. that will help a lot on your launch!!!

I totally agree... every driver is different plus track condition keeps changing so you never know!!

I usually try to be around 24-25psi. but thats what my friend tried with the stock tires and worked well for him. he managed to get a 1.9X 60ft.....

you didnt get that 1.67 on stock tires did you????

Well let's forget about comp mode altogether, tried that once and instead of the rpm's holding @4500 I had to have made a mistake cause mine jumped to 6k and like an idiot I dumped the clutch.....Stupid I know.

And like I said some people disable the stability while others don't.
But I was always told to turn off traction control. That first push on the button.
Are you saying not to turn anything off?

Are u talking about launch control? Don't use it, its useless since its set at 5000 RPM factory. No way in hell u will hook at that RPM on stock tire. Wish there was an option that makes u adjust the RPM.

And no I mean turn the traaction control off (hit the button once) don't turn off everything (hold the button for 7secondss)

GL. I might make it there this friday, but I doubt it. The alternator went out today... Hopefully its just the battery...
