Changes for 2013 Camaro?

Hey Camaro5 peeps....

So I was getting ready to order my SS/RS at the dealer, decided to take a few more days to build excatly what I wanted. Turns out Im gonna have to wait a bit longer ....Im really afraid that these cars will be changed due to stricter EPA bullsh*t or that they will be no longer in production. Im depating if I should suffer and get it now or wait till the 2013 car comes out. Any info you may have Id greatly appreciate, thanks

I wouldn't worry about EPA and CAFE standards and such. The camaro isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Welcome to the site!

If you want a Camaro......buy it. I think they'll be around for a while.

The 2012's are out, you wait for a 2013.
Then what? the 2013's are out, you wait for a 2014? When does it stop?
You want one, just buy it. There'll always be something newer/better coming along, but how long do you wait?
I don't see much changing between the 2012-2013-2014 MY's.

Ok so you have to wait, I don't get the fear. I have been waiting since 2007 when I saw the silver camaro concept car. "Which brought tears to my eyes, beause it was that beautiful" NOW! I have to wait till october for the new blue to come out and I have no fear about getting what I want, let-lone a camaro period. Calmdown and order when you can.

It doesn't sound like you are that serious about getting a Camaro. It sounds more like you are looking for excuses not to buy one. If you want one get it ordered, it doesn't take that long to figure what you want. Time to make an executive decision. Good luck.

If you are waiting to save up cash or times when the prices drop then fine. If you are waiting for that over the top option out there that they are going to sneak into the next model year, it's probably not going to happen. If they came out with an option like that there would be people finding ways to put it on our 2010-12s. Similar to what they did with the HUD.

I wanted a 2011 2SS/RS convertible, but didn't want to drop $42k on it. So I decided to wait a few years and pick up a used one. To hold me over until then, I picked up a '10 2LT/RS with a sunroof. After a few years of it, I'll appreciate my upgrade to 2SS even more. Love the one I have now though!

Why so much bashing? SmittyTuck is on the fence and some of you feel the need to not be any help but put your $.02 in. Not a very good representation of what this site is about...

I say live for today and not tomorrow! The '12's are out and it's the latest and greatest. As others have said, improvements are made yearly. In actuality, the differences from a '10-'14 will be minimal. I have an '11 and do like that the HUD was added with the 2SS model. Buy now..live for today!

If I'm reading between the lines correctly, OP needs to wait because of some personal circumstances and is concerned the Camaro in its present form (which he loves, as we all do) will change before he is more able to purchase one.

Don't worry SmittyTuck. The next round of CAFE standards don't take effect until 2016 and those are only at 34.1 mpg. The bigger ones for 54 mpg start in 2017 but dont go into full effect until 2025.

Plenty of time to buy a Camaro.

Your 100% correct! There is no doubt that this is my next car! I would like to pay off my 10k Matco bill and sell a toy first before I get myself in deeper debt... and thanks for the welcoming to this site

With all the Camaro's on dealer lots all over the country, why order? Have you tried to use the Chevy website to search for your optioned car in a 150 mile radius of you? That's how i found mine. It was in a little town and they were willing to make me a smoking deal on it. If you are ordering it to be a collectors car for 50 years from now, then order away, otherwise I'd probably do the same thing I did; search, find, drive 2 hours, buy and drive home with a huge smile.
Oh and the feeling is the 2015 Camaro will be on the new chassis and smaller. I will say though that I am not happy with the change GM made to the heads on the 3.6L for 2012 though. Let's see you put headers on that thing:( So each year there made be changes you don't like and now you have to find a left over previous model year or buy used.
