I must have missed it.. didnt know you had it installed already. Countryman has the exact setup as you, the obx lt and mrtv2, but on his video at higher rpm it sound like there's some rasp. Maybe its just the speakers but how is it in real life when you push it? Does it get raspy at higher rpm? Im thinking about doing this or mflow perforated x with side exit.

It does have a small leak at one of the slip joints but hardly noticeable, mostly it's just freakin' loud. Maybe I'll get used to it.
ok, I'm back from the work trip to China...no Camaros there :( I checked mine a few times & no leaks...it is just freakishly loud...I love mine & the sound...just be careful about the wrong kind of attention...I ended up with a $140 loud exhaust ticket earlier this summer

Bmore, the only rasp I get is between 2500 & 3500...once you get over that, it isn't too bad

checked for leaks again this morning. If it does leak it isn't doing it at idle. Maybe it's just the rasp? Just like you, I hear a sound between 2500-3000 that sounds like air blowing but after that it seems OK.
Is that what yours sounds like?

Still haven't revved it all the way out yet but it seems OK once you get past 3000.

OK, for the more experienced on here,

If I put cats on will that quiet it down?

I hate to get new mufflers but this is just too loud.

Any thought are appreciated.

Magnaflow resonated X pipe in place of the H pipe...and done.

Look at the exhaust sticky and listen to the LT headers videos that have the resonated X in their setups (should be easy to find as I have all parts listed for each link). There are 3 or 4 of them I believe..go check em out.

Will do.
I'm not so much worried about rasp I just need less volume. Will the res-X do the trick?

I hate to admit it, maybe I'm getting old but it is just too loud. I mean I'm embarrassed to accelerate past other cars because it's in your face loud.

I just bought a used Magnaflow resonated X-pipe. Should be able to get it on next week. If that doesn't fix it I'll be forced to get quieter mufflers.

Don't want to oversell the magnaflow resonated X, but so far in every case Ive seen where someone wanted to use it for a purpose like this, they seemed to always be happy with the results. Hopefully you will be.

Well I got a used Magnaflow resonated X-pipe for 75.00 shipped and had it installed (+ got my MRT's welded to stop them from melting my damn diffuser! ) for 100.00.
It fixed my LOUD problem!
It still doesn't sound as good as it did with just the MRT V-2's but it sounds pretty good. Still quiet when idling or just cruising along but nice when you hit the pedal.

It kept most of the performance but I do notice that I have to downshift on the freeway to get good pick up, even at 80mph.
Kinda frustrating because I never had to before, even when stock, and the headers improved pick up but now I guess I just have to deal with it.

Main part is, it's now drivable without being so loud I'm afraid to hit the gas pedal.

Thanks for all the help KM & gang!
