We're getting close, and it's looking more and more like I won't be going to that show, so I'm getting close to a "going" than a "maybe".
LOL....Do it!!! As far as the oasis....I don't care if they are lazy...they are the only ones who didn't want over $1000 up front just to come eat at their place. One ticket is fine with me if it gets us in the door, but I'll ask and see if I can get her to split it up by table maybe. They were also the only ones who would block off parking for us.

It's fine that it's one ticket, it just didn't make any sense. Seems to me it'll take a lot longer getting through the payment area if the cashier has to go through a long list of what was ordered.

When we sometimes eat out at the office, they put things on one ticket, then as each individual goes to pay, the cashier is finding the item and marking it off. Just seems like a huge waste of time, plus it leaves plenty of room for error if you're the last person to pay and something wasn't marked off the list as being paid for already.

I'd sure hate to be last in line, only having two meals, but end up paying for 6 because the cashier didn't properly ring up those in front of me.

I'd think splitting it by table would probably be a hell of a lot easier on them and us. I understand one ticket, they're going to hope someone picks up the entire tab and then they can toss automatic gratuity for a party larger than 8 or whatever.

We'll just need to be understanding and pleasant and hope they can treat us like different tables.

We have a decision to make!!!

Alright, well Oasis said they will try to work with us on the whole one ticket thing so I think I can get that figured out. At the worst, just bring cash and pay when you order so there is no confusion.

The ball park just emailed me and stated that since we weren't actually purchasing tickets as a group buy anymore that they really couldn't cone off any parking. Needless to say, I'm pissed. I wrote him back an email stating I would talk to you guys and that the number of cars attending would most likely be considerably less since a lot of us are particular about parking and an event this size would draw a lot of attention, some of it not so nice.(i.e. dented doors, fingerprints, etc...) He says we should still not have a problem parking where we want as long as we get there early still like we were planning. My point is he told me one thing in the beginning and now is changing it. The way I see it we have 3 options here:
1. I lean on him and threaten to find another venue for us and see if he caves, if he doesn't we find another venue. (see option 3)

2.We get there early and take our own spots, no cones blocking it off or anything.

3.We scrap the baseball idea since it seems some of you aren't so keen on the idea anyways and find something else to do....like the big car meet at Cabella's on Saturday night, 50 5th gen Camaros rolling in there would grab some serious attention.

Let me know your thoughts....quickly!

Restaurants here in the Houston area welcome our Club with open arms. They also block off areas for us to park.

Seems those restaurants are not interested in bringing more business their way.

As for tacking on gratuity... that saves me a lot of money. I always tip good service well.... very well. When they tack on gratuity... that's all they get. To me tacking on gratuity paralells passing all the kids in a class..... no matter what they scored on graded papers.

I wasn't planning on going to the baseball game, just the drive-up from San Antonio to have some grub at the Oasis. But, if we throw in the car meet at Cabella's, I would be down for that!

I don't believe they are including gratuity. I will double check.

For the ballgame, I can take it or leave it. It'll be nice to have a large showing there and we'll easily be able to get us all together in one spot, but it's going to be just sweltering if we get there around 4 or 5, and once you get in the park there's pretty much nowhere to go indoors.

But I'm not for sure in this yet, I'm pretty sure, just not totally sure

Cool

I Like option #3..."but" we need to take into consideration our friends from Dallas area.
Any way, at what time normally plp start showing-up at Cabela's?

I'm guessing 6-7 like the meets here in San Antonio. The ones who want to go home Saturday can leave whenever they want that night, the ones who want to stay can stay and play in Austin Saturday night and Sunday, we can plan that Saturday night at Cabela's.

Sounds good to me, I'm coming in from DFW and don't mind playing it by ear after lunch. We'll figure it out.
