A stock SS is not going to out run a stock M5 M6 AMG CLS 55 CLS 63 S65
or even the 60k new C63. That's just plain fact.

If you out ran an M5 perhaps he or they weren't paying much attention or even trying.

My shop does a lot of repair work on these German status symbols. I have driven a lot of the high dollar m series BMW's and the build quality and performance of these cars is so over rated. After a few years all German cars are the same Leaking, shorting out ,cracking interior, rattle traps and that is the TRUTH.

Yes...so true. And 6 year old Camaro's get the guts pulled out of them for hot rods and thrown away....what's your point? You said you beat an M5 - good for you. There are two current owners on this thread - and myself a former M5 owner - that tell you straight up that they have M-cars that beat their own MODDED SS's. So, either the guy had a fake M5, and older model with the V8, or he/she did not know how to drive the car. Period.

the OP asked a question...current M5/M6 owners have told them that their Camaros had to be heavily modified to keep UP with their M5/M6. So if you beat one, you were lucky.

Ok all that means is that people want the drivelines out of the camaros. 6 year old bmw's just should be completely thrown away or melted down and made into something better like maybe.............HONDAS.

I have a friend that deals in high end BMW's he has a new M5 ,the motor makes so much mechanical noise it sounds like a pea thrasher.

And what in God's name is a 'pea thrasher'? Yes...the V10 is a noisy motor. Won't get an argument from me on that one.

totally disagree. Believe me, I have owned a LOT of cars. Currently, I still own a 1995 BMW M3 that I drive more often than any of my other cars, totally stock and not a single fluid leak or crack on the dash or panels, and the interior is still comparable to new ones. 2 other BMWs in my family (2001 and 2000 3 series) they run very well and in much better condition outside and inside than most cars of the same years.
Anyway, M3, M5, M6, most AMGs will take a stock SS no problem.

Sounds like old war stories to me...Like I said, with 425 WHP I was walked by my own M5 driven by my brother, who is not used to the car.

BTW : monsters live in my garage, be careful what you ask for.
I'll see your 400 RWHP and raise you 600RWHP, you LOSE.

Let just say deep pockets are a must with any M car. Find one with a CPO warranty and you'll be fine. Oil changes and repairs can be very expensive, but it is after all a V10.
