This seems appropriate to me....I was answering a question in a 1/4 mile drag racing thread...and I just happend to hit 1320 posts. Coincidence??? I think not!! (I do love me some 1320 feet!!!!)

Quick question, I have never drag raced before but I'm sure you guys and gals can give me plenty of advice, but do I need a helmet? I have a mildly modded LS3 so I'm sure I'm not going to be very fast.

As Mike said....it's always good to have one...and NHRA rules state any car running faster than 13.99 (pretty much every Camaro SS), driver must wear a helmet. HOWEVER....I've never had to use one at SGMP, and I run in the mid-twelves--but I do have it with me just in case. So the choice is yours.

If your running the South Florida tracks or Orlando, you will need a helmet.

Yes you need a helmet. Get one that is Snell SA2005 or Snell SA2010 certified with the tag inside in case they check it at the track. (I don't claim to be an expert, but I am currently shopping for a helmet too.)
