Smile Supercharging my Camaro in Australia

hey guys new to this forum, my 2010 L99 camaro is currently under going a right hand drive conversion. I have all ready purchased the following parts for it.

Edelbrock Supercharger 1597
Rotofab Eforce CAI
Kooks 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers
Kooks Catted Connection Pipes
Borla Stinger Catback Exhaust

Just want some input into what other mods can or should be done. The car will be dyno tuned and afm and related features will be turned off. Also does anyone know how much the gearbox is good for before it blows and roughly what sort of figures people are getting out of theres? Anyway heres a couple pictures of my clubsport with an LS3 and a pick up with a v6.

camshaft and lifters... some of the l99 builds have collapsed the stock lifters.

there are a few threads in the FI section talking about that.

Car looks good... you will love the extra power!

You might want to consider the JRE fuel rail mod from Janetty Racing. It feeds both rails independantly rather than feed only on one side of the engine and then hope the fuel makes it all the way around to the other side via single feed. This mod helps to prevent the drivers side rear cylinders from going lean (and then BANG ).

FYI - This is much easier to install BEFORE you bolt the rails on to the supercharger. It is a little bit more tricky to install after the supercharger fuel rails are bolted in place but still possible. You might want to add it at the same time you do the supercharger.

Just a good safe cheap insurance policy.

You will love those mods!

Thank you, will give them a call, hopefully do me a deal on camshaft and lifters aswell. I see they also do an l99 to ls3 conversion, would this be worth the money while doing everything else?

Little bit off the topic, but can i ask you, who is making the conversion to left hand traffic for you? I have couple of my friends in Aussie wanting me to send camaros over there. I have been in willowbank twice now, i love your country. Also, i love Holden SS ute's, freaking economy in us cut us off from that deal. HSV vehicles kicks ass! Good luck with your mods. Cheers Mate!

Glad you like it here, its the same with a camaro here. The cost to change it to right hand drive is more than the car. The car ends up costing a bit over 100k on road. MCI in melbourne are doing the conversion, although there are a couple other places which are doing it.

If you are in Australia why didn't you go with a Harrop supercharger?

Adding a cam at the same time is a little more work but if you do it at the same time, you will only need to tune it once and saves a lot of labor. I did both at the same time. If you do the cam at the same time as the blower you WILL need more fuel. The MSD Boost A Pump would be required at a minimum. The other (better) option is a dual fuel pump mod but that is pretty expensive. Ted at JRE will fill you in about it. That much power will require more fuel than the stock pump can deliver without some help. Again, you absolutely have to prevent going lean.

Price for a harrop is around 10-11k and with the dollar being so good it's allot cheaper, also better of buying something designed for the camaro.

I would love to do a cam and the l99 to ls3 conversion but how much power can the gearbox take? I know the hsv Auto's are only good for about 400rwkw then they go bang. I will definitely be doing the jre fuel mod eforce super charger. I found this dual fuel pump on eBay is it worth the money.

The gearbox is pretty solid as long as you don't do slicks. Once you get too much traction the weak parts will show themselves. Half shafts and driveshaft bolts are both points that can break. The output shaft on the transmission was questionable at one time but I think it was just the early production cars that need to worry about that.

The fuel pump on ebay makes me nervous. I do not know what they have in that kit but the Lingenfelter dual pump kit is known to be safe and effective. ADM also sells a kit that is simmilar but has a little more content for a little bit more $$$. I personally would not take any chances on saving a few bucks on an unknown Ebay fuel pump kit considering how important it is.
