treat the clearbra just like the rest of the car. There are some specialty products to help protect/clean the clear bra. But wash it, wax it, protect it.

Plexus is a very good protectant/polish

you could even us PC and fine machine polish with white pad (tape off edges of clearbra)

You don't want to put a powerwasher on the edges of it, you could peel it up.

Wash it and wax it. Do not use Plexus as it does burn the film out. Plexus has butane in it which is not good for film. Its more for hard plastics. There has been a lot of testing to back this up so do not use anything petroleum based on the film. Also I would avoid clay bars... not sure that it would do any good and if it gets into the edges it is very difficult to get out. I have been installing film for 9 years now so I have a little experience with it.

I would have thought that polishing would be too abrasive especially with a PC?

Correct Bill. And that is only OK on certain films. All films are not alike. I NEVER recommend any of my clients polish their film. There is simply no reason to. My advice to you is ask your installer befroe doing anything drastic. A simple wash and wax is sufficient... anything more can lead to trouble.

Problem is I have some water stains and marks on it. How can I get them off safely?

It depends on the type of film. All films are a little different and have different clear coats on them. So knowing the type of film will make it easier to give advice... but again I always recommend you ask your installer first.

Pro-Tect, I'd appreciate some help. I have a clear bra by VentureTape and must left a Florida Bug on it a little too long (really only a fews days). It has now turned a light yellow where the bug once was. I've tried some Adam's products on it and nada. What's next?? Thanks.

To get out bug stains take some isopropyl alchohol and dab it onto the film. Do not rub it as it will ruin the finish. The IA will soak into the film and lift the stain out as it dries out. After about 30 minutes wipe of the rest with a detailer. Again just let the alchohol soak in a rag and then dab the film. It will pull it out. Once it is removed I would recommend using a good sealant on the film. It wil help prevent staining in the future.

wax and wash with zip wash car wash. My wife has clear bra on hers for 5 years and still works. Over time they will harden depending on how long they are in the sun but you peel it off and put new back on. I will never own a car with out the clear bra.

Never use alcohol or a claybar on them-that will mar the finish. Use a heat-gun to 'cure' the bra. It will remove any swirling and hazing that has accumulated overtime and restore the bra to a high-gloss. See "treated" area below.

Thanks, took about 70% of the yellow out. Someone else told me it will go away by just leaving it in the sun. Hope that takes out the rest.

The sun will take the rst of it out. Once it cures use a good sealant on it to help minimize any more staining. Not sure if you get love bugs down there but they are notorious for staining clear bras. So a good sealnt will help prevent that.

Third Shift - a heat gun will really help "heal" light swirl marks with some films. You just have to make sure to be very careful as you can blister the film if left on one spot for too long.
