Help! Door got hit by another Camaro!

So I go in for a quick dental checkup on base, I see a free parking space next to an inferno orange SS/RS and pull in. Sweet!

Come outside and the other Camaro is gone and I notice this horrible ding in my passenger door! You can barely tell in the picture, but there is definitely some paint transfer... and it is reddish in color... WTF!

Anyway... How do I fix it? The chip is down to primer, I can feel the paint edge around the outside... I was looking at covering it up with some vinyl, but it's such an odd place - right on that crease!

Please, Please help me out. Ideas for vinyl, fixes, etc.

I'm leaning towards the Yenko stripes - But I know how bent out of shape people get about misrepresentation...

No no and no.

Just have a PDR guy take the ding out- has done one right on my crease before too.

Then if you can polish out the paint mishap, have the body shop do a touchup paint job.

You're looking at $100 (more like $50-75) MAX for the ding, and couldn't be more than a couple hundred for the paint repair..

Save yourself the ridiculous striping.

Thank you for your brutal honesty.... Now that I'm less furious about the whole thing its easy to see that it wouldn't really look that good. But you don't think the Yenko style stripes would be alright? I mean the real ones, but instead of "yenko" they could say "synergy"... I was always a big fan of anything Yenko back in the day.

As for fixing... well, see, the thing is, I'm out of the Navy on the 17th of this month... I have several good jobs lined up, but nothing has been set in stone so I don't have $200 or $300 to spare for a bit.

And I suppose if I was going to have a paint shop touch the car then I would want to have the rally stripes painted on, and the front bumper has taken a savage beating on the underneath side....

What a prick... Nothing wrong with Yenko style stripes dude. BUt I'donly go that route if the Yenko style stripes are what you want. Otherwise, I'd find myself a good PDR guy- some will do touch-up work, but may be tricky on SG...

My big worry is running into problems trying to match the color up really well. I don't want to rack up some massive labor charges because it takes 10 times longer to match and they end up repainting the whole damn door and i don't have a car for weeks.

I love the green! But I never even considered how tricky any paint/body work might be.

A good shop will match it no sweat. It's not THAT crazy of a color.

Getting hit by another camaro has to be the worse case scenario.
That other camaro lured you into a false since of security and bam, the owner doesn't give a shit about his car or yours.
It's like a Venus fly trap. Orange camaro's try to take out all the other colors so watch out.

Lucky it don't look like you lost any paint so u can clean it up yourself and go see a good pdr guy and be back to new.

Love the anology. I dont trust anyone not even my own. Anyone can hit you and anyone can lose track of the door with lots of kids. And totally park away from anyone at walmart. Walmart is the worst place in the world to take your camaro. The cars I see are beat down and they are owned by people who will look at your car and try to hurt it cause they dont have one.

Run little bear run.... I park on the edge and walk a few extra minutes. My car stays in good shape and my butt looks extra sexy from the exercise. So its a win win. haha j/k about the butt thing. Im old married and my wife loves me however I am.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunatly, there are haters out there. Even fellow Camaro owners. That had to been done intentionally IMO. I would have at least left a note or something.

Sorry to heat about your pain! As usual there are people who do not repsect others property. Good luck with your issue. Shows us the repaired picture, when you get it fixed.
