How come the Dynos all claim 250-276 hp when they claim stock is 312 hp? In the v6 engine.

Dynos measure rear wheel horsepower whereas Chevy measures the horsepower at the engine crankshaft. You have drivetrain power losses thus the difference.

just a thought, someone who has been following this thread since the release of the intake should post all known issues and their fixes in another thread. just saying

Good suggestion, I think I might try to do that for everyone when I get time. In the meantime, here is a picture of my setup with my newly dyed filter!

My neighbor across the street is a mechanic at a local Cadillac dealership, I took my car to his shop this last weekend for an upper induction cleaning. He rode with me and immediately noticed the difference - the sound itself is worth the price.

Looks nice! A little update on the T-clamps, I had the intake off and trimmed the bolts down with a hack saw in a vice about 1/2" and a regular 10mm 1/4" drive socket will work to tighten the clamp.

I wouldn't cut more off than that.

I think the clamps are well worth the small cost. They look great and I do believe they secure the air horn much better than the worm gear clamps without having to over tighten.

I'm waiting on delivery for mine - I'm using a turbo clamp off of a FORD at the moment - need to get it off ASAP!

I think I have a problem with my breather. I was getting a screeching/squeeling out of my car with the vararam..Vararam said TB opening and closing. I put on the stock intake and sealed my breather fitment on my stock intake and kept the Vararam breather on and by god I got the squeal. I undid the breather and reattached the hose to the stock intake and no more squeal. Bad breather me thinks?

Sounds like it might be. If you didn't live in CA, I'd say to run down to Autozone and pick up a new one (they're fairly inexpensive). Since you live in CA, these may not be available in stores...damn CARB!! Give Vararam a call and let them know what you are seeing/hearing with the breather and the stock intake.

I originally had this problem too. Went to the local auto parts store and bought a free-flowing valve cover breather, and the noise disappeared. Unfortunately I found out this free-flowing filter let's too much free flowing air in giving your maf false readings and your fuel trims will never really settle in. The breather VR sends with the intake has a built in baffle, but it is too constrictive and doesn’t let enough air in.

The best solution is to get an Rx oil cap breather from SC2150. It has a metered check valve specific to the V6, and will allow the right amount of air in. I got the catch can and breather from him about two weeks ago and have had no more screeching noises. If you go this route you will need to discard the VR breather and plug that pcv line.
