Question Is a heat blanket necessary for a single turbo system?

I'm getting my Turbonetics turbo system installed soon and have been planning out the install over the last couple weeks. The shop is going to heat wrap everything to keep temps. in check. However, is a heat blanket for the turbo necessary as well, or is it something that may just aid in a touch of extra safety? This is my daily driver car as well if that comes into play in the decision.

I would say positively get it. Reduces underhood heat dramatically and will increase the life of literally every single thing under the hood. Turbos are ridiculously hot and all of that heat has to go somewhere.....wrapped it goes out the tailpipe.....unwrapped it goes everywhere.

Simplistic view of things but I would positively get one.

I used heat shield on everything , I want longevity . 100 degree days and traffic jambs have posed no challenges .

Thanks 4x. That puts my mind at ease with the heat shield. That's definitely going on there because I want longevity and reliability as well. Keeping the temps down looks to play a vital role.

Lol, very true! When I sit in my car idling, I can see the heat coming from each vent pretty extravagantly too.

Thanks Black10. I'm definitely heat wrapping everything for sure. I was debating whether I was going to buy a heat blaket for the turbo, but I called Turbonetics and evidently the kit alreadu comes with one. So, that saves me some moolah . I always love that, ha-ha.
