For both of you I would suggest you call GM Customer Service or your dealer to see if they can get it moving. We know there's a shortage of railcars and that's going to be a problem - but sometimes the squeeky wheel gets the grease!! Customer service 800-222-1020 Good luck and let us know what you find out.

There's no order to it that we can see, but internally I'm sure there is. There may be several factors that cause one car to get shipped ahead of another. The logistics of filling railcars and sending them to different locations, cars on hold for QC, and who knows what else can affect the timing. The best advice is to stay in touch with your dealer and make sure they are on top of it. This is by far the worst part of the process, waiting for them to ship. But hang in there, they will ship out I promise.

Just called. According to them, still in quality control, and there is no timetable for when it will leave. Talking to these customer service people is worthless. They don't know anything. They put you on hold for 10 minutes while they call someone else, and then when they come back and tell you the update (or lack of update), they can't answer any follow-up questions, because they truly do not know anything.

I understand that all of this access to information can be bad, since back in the day you just sat around and waited and then your car showed up, but lets be honest - it's almost 2012 and people now expect instant information, so Chevy needs to pick up their game and maybe send an email if your car is picked for extensive quality control and explain what that means and a general timetable. Something besides bayed and stored. My car was built on July 19th, and all I see around me is people with later build dates either receive their car or go to the same status as me.

I can certainly understand your frustration. You can make your case known to customer service and they should forward it to the apropriate place. You'll also get a survey after delivery and you can also state your case there. It is difficult in this age of instant information to not get an answer - let's just hope GM reads this and acts accordingly. You may also want to PM Jeff in Customer Service here on the forum and see if he can push it.
