No problem - I'm the first one to say that not everything works for everybody. I love the shield on the bottom of the wheel, especially since it reminds me of the one on the front of my 35th.

It's interesting, one of my SoCal guys who stopped by the dealership yesterday said with some surprise that he loved the steering wheel and would trade the one in his 2010 for it in a heartbeat. He said it felt awesome in his hands and he thinks it's much more functional than his.

I think this is one of those things that needs to be kept in perspective - there's no perfect car out there, we all have little things we dislike about even cars we're in love with, and things often are much different in person than in pictures. How many people have changed their minds about the Camaro and/or an aspect of it after seeing it in person? I've read about tons just here on the forums. Many people who hate that steering wheel in pictures will change their minds after seeing it/driving with it. Some will not.

But it's all good, cause I could not care less what steering wheel is on the car! Gimme horsepower, a manual transmission, a convertible, and the Camaro name and I'll be a happy little camper!

Who cares. If Chevy saving $$ means we get the Camaro in production, I'm all for them using other car parts.

Hahahaha well said. Yeah I read some reviews of it and people seem to like it better from a comfort and functionality perspective. Otherwise the upgraded dash looks great. I cant wait to actually drive this bad boy.

Funny side note: Im 24, I drive a '97 nissan maxima GLE automatic transmission. I actually learned how to drive stick by test driving tons of cars from infiniti, ford, acura, dodge, and finally chevy. Once I finished looking for a car I was a pro with the manual transmission. (Needless to say, the dealers didnt love that..) Direct quote from my first test drive: "Woahh ok now I dont feel bad i didnt get to go down to coney island this weekend since im gonna get a roller coaster ride right here"

Me, I just decided to buy a manual for my first car. Two days later I was a pro and all these years later I still don't wanna drive an auto. When I found a car for my oldest daughter a few years ago, I purposely purchased a manual for her even though she had never driven one before. She was freaked out, but with a few years driving under her belt she loves driving and can't imagine driving an automatic. She even tells me she's gonna pick her future cars based on whether they're offered in a manual or not! She's a smart girl

ive never owned a auto- every car i have owned, i have ordered brand new fully loaded with a manual- granted its only been 2 cars- an 06 cobalt ss manual w/ leather and my 2010 2lt/rs manual i just sold. Ill never own an auto either, unless its a family vehicle/ truck.

:( I'm still sitting at 4B00 since August 4th. Every time i call GM they say my car is in quality control. Hopefully they release it soon, its been in there for 2 weeks now. I'm only 45 minutes away from the plant, so hopefully when its released ill have it quick. I understand that GM needs to do quality control on random vehicles but they should really do it cars that aren't sold to individuals. It's getting a little frustrating that some dealers have 45th sitting on their lots now and i cant get mine. Congrats to exflirt on the 45th vert! It really does look amazing. I'm sure ill have lots of pictures on my 45th v6 coupe when it arrives.

Exact same as mine. When I called they said it wasnt in quality control, just hanging out at the plant for no apparent reason.

My 2SS got to my dealership since tuesday morning!
I went to check it out and it looks better than i had imagined (even with the sideskirts missing cuz it will be getting the gfx installed). Too bad i wont be able to pick it up till Friday morning. The worst part for me is knowing its here so close, but yet so far. Looking at all these people with horror stories about not knowing where there cars are and having em in qc, etc, I really wasnt expecting it this early. I ordered it on 6/21, it was built on 8/2, delivered to my dealer on 8/16, picking it up on 8/19 (God willing).
I cant wait to pick it up and drive the shhh out of it!

hey exflirt...i've already got 340 miles on my car lol...i ordered a 1ss..with backup camera and footwell lighting.

so far..i swear that the stock exhaust is louder than my previous 2ss (sold it..long story)...and everything feels much tighter..maybe because it's not broken in yet.

also...suspension is much better as well.

and btw...for all you steering wheel haters...drive the car...the wheel feels much more nimble and easier to work with than the older style..BUT..i do agree that I wish there was a camaro logo instead of a corporate logo.

wait for it wait for it wait for it.......yeah that is what i am doing 7 more days with no status updates that brings the grand total of 17 days since my car was built and its sitting up in Canada collecting dust. the only thing i really wish is getting a real answer or someone who knows something.....BC its BS in this shaky economy we are willing to pay 31k for a car site unseen. lets list on who this hurts all thanks to GM......sales man, dealership, bank officer, bank, auto insurance agent, insurance company, auto accessory sales people and so on. i am sitting at almost 3 months since i ordered my car. it takes less time for a car to come from Japan on a boat. i need someone to blame. so its either the shipping company, or the unions, or the brass. one thing i do know......we would have all had or mustangs and or challengers by now because they are MADE in AMERICA....so maybe we can blame canada that always seems to be a safe bet!......sorry for the rant i am just really pissed off!

look at Gm as a company and we should not be surprised needed a government bailout should have gone bankrupt. stock IPOed again at 34 now trading 9 months later at 23ish. now look at us willing to buy an expensive car in a time when FEAR is running through the economy and GM who is in the business of selling cars and CSX who is in the business of moving goods. Cant get us our goods. what is the % that we walk from out from our deals and wait until the fall when 2012s are all over dealer lots and they are begging for people to buy cars bc there is a chance the US goes back into rescission. this is a great story on why our economy is second rate these days. think about in my last message how many people this really effects.......and just think about it.....shame on you GM

How long did it take you to get the 340 miles? When I ordered my 2002 I took a road trip the first weekend I bought her because I knew I wasn't going to be able to stop driving! Might as well drive to something

I'll have well over 1000 on the 2012 in a few weeks, because I'm going to pick her up in SoCal, drive her back up to the Bay Area for two weeks, then back to SoCal for her modifications. I git her for two weeks before losing her for up to two months

But after waiting for 18 months, I'll enjoy the two weeks I get, then look forward to all the changes when I get her back in a few months!
