Im not going to pretend I know enough about the ins and outs of GM's business to take a educated guess....

But I will take a wild guess at it..... I think when you are trying to get a new product out there it would not hurt to have a couple of options. That being said I wonder if the extra weight would really kill a car like this?

It is a Caddy using Volt technology so weight is mission critical.

Well if the cost of adding weight justifies the extra sales I say go for it!

I wish I knew all the ends and outs of the car business. I would not feel like such a jack@$$ in these topics....

The more I look at it... Im not sure if you could turn it into a 4 door without killing the flow of the lines

Well it looks like four doors is not a consideration.

General Motors said today that it will sell a Cadillac coupe with plug-in technology similar to that of the Chevrolet Volt.

Kudos to Cadillac and another prototype that will stay true when it goes to production!

Fenwick, I had a chance to live with a CTS Coupe for a week. It was a really nice car, great job.

.

While that looks hot as heck, I wonder if there's enough market for it.

I do hate to rain on any parade, but I'm pretty sure I heard the Volt sold like 125 units last month.

That can't be cost effective. *shrug*

It does look like it came out of TRON though, and I like that look.

Volt sales have been low the past few months because D-Ham is shut down for retooling.

As in there was no Volt production. Volt inventory across the country is almost completely depleted.

As a side note Scarrzz, while talking cars at a Chevy dealership, I was informed the dealer allocations aren't very high, and the demand exceeds the supply. I was under the impression the Volt is doing very well.

Ahh, I missed the memo, that's good to hear. I was afraid that demand was tapering off because gas prices stabilized and came down half a notch.

I want LOTS of people to drive electrics, so GM can meet CAFE standards while I drive my ZL1 ! Heh Heh Heh.
