Well a cam isn't really a bolt on but you'll need a big one plus headers, intake, underdrive pulley, tune, and maybe ported heads depending on the cam you go with.

A supercharger would be cheaper.

Headers-$1000
Pulley-$300
Intake-$400
Hiflo cats-$300
Exhaust-$700
Tune-$500
Cam-$2500
Ported heads- but it isn't cheap

This will get you about 460-470 wrhp and maybe 430 tq

A supercharger will run you about $7000 and get you more than that.

$2500 for a cam?

I agree 5 to 7k on a blower will make more than a bolton car+ cam. But you are goin a bit nuts on the price of parts.

Cam ($1200ish) + install/tune ($1100) = $2300
Headers ($1000) + hi flow cat ($400) + install ($300) = $1700
Exhaust ($1400) + labor ($100) = $1500
intake ($300)

= $$5800 and this will get you to about 450ish RWHP

with NA / Bolt ons...the higher your HP/TQ gets the more it costs to get significantly less gains...so I can definately see bolt ons becoming alot more expenisve with less gains than a blower....

if ur talking straight number and power, blower is honestly the cheaper way to go in the long run, but then again, i personally like running NA over FI.....so to each his own....

14-1500 bucks yes. He already said 500 for a tune. Not everyone pays for labor.

Dunno why Im even arguing this. Other than he took the highest prices to compare it to a blower. When in the end the blower will be more power, but a cam can be done for ALOT less.

Cam is not bolt-on.

IMO maybe 475 at the crank is possible with bolt-ons, but not at the wheels where it counts.

The OP never said if the 475hp was at the crank or at the wheels. At the crank, probably pretty easy. Headers, exhaust, cai, and tune.
