I wouldn't be surprised if the 5th gen's size is the Corvette owner's biggest beef with the Camaro. It used to be something of a poor man's Vette with a back seat. Now it's more like a Chevelle. An awesome car in its own right, but not quite the Corvette alternative that it once was.

Now Ron, there you go hating on the Camaro. Another thing that cracks me up is people saying they have "beat" Corvettes from stoplights. If a Camaro pulls up next to me when I'm in my c6 Vette, and they are begging to race, I may rev the engine and grin, and I MIGHT even hit the gas a bit off the line, but I am DARN sure not racing on a city street. Period. So anyone who runs home posting "I just beat a Corvette" is simply kidding themselves. <shrug>

Plus, I know some Vette drivers who couldn't beat some of our Camaro guys here because they don't know how to drive nearly as well. ie They are not "equal drivers."

Apparently you have all the answers and know exactly why things are as they are. Right!

Camaros rock! always have, always will. Most real gearheads appreciate a well dressed Camaro over a Vette any day. That being said I'd love to drive either one since I think both are extremely well executed cars. The camaro is just better looking regardless of powertrain etc...

Go to a car show. You will see what I mean. I don't know why, its just a simple fact that the gearheads love a mean camaro and respect a mean vette, but the camaro usually goes home with the trophy.

Don't know how to explain it, but it usually goes that way.

I love them both so no favorites for me. I would be proud to call either one my own.

I hate to say it (and swear) but the camaro is the bastard child of the auto world. Always has been and at one point in time called "The Poor Mans Corvette" and that motto sticks true today. And IMO back in the day if you could not afford a corvette you got a camaro. Could not afford a camaro? you got a chevy chevelle/nova with a mid sized motor lol. Thats how i always viewed it. Cause the camaro has always had a corvette motor just down tuned. So it could never compete with the corvette on any grounds power or preformce. Think about the history of the camaro it ALMOST ALWAYS had a corvette motor....just saying

this is just my .02 cents i always loved the camaro more then the corvette. I love the under dog the camaro is. The corvette also Is NOT a muscle car NEVER WAS its a Sports car and IMO (besides the ford GT modeled after the GT 40 not to be confused with the mustang gt). Are the american ONLY TRUE SPORTS CARS IMO

*edit* the camaro has always been number two in chevy's line up. Any upgrades the corvette got then trickled down to the camaro. It is always in 2ed place though I AM NOT COMPLAINING. Just stateing fact
