I have a 2011 2LT/RS, which means that it is governed at 155. However, i have heard that the car tops out at 146. Is this true? Can anyone tell me if it tops out at 146 or 155 from experience?

Unless your on a track, why do you even need to go that fast? Just to say you can?

I've hit 150 (closed track, ran on a runway) so I would say the 155 limiter. But yeah never need to go that fast unless you're on a closed runway

Thats weird, it should be able to go above 155 if its governed, I thought american muscle cars are generally governed at 165 or 170?

I thought I saw somewhere it tops out at or around 166

Why risk your car geting arrested and most imporently YOUR LIFE AND SOMEONE ELSE LIFE

there is alot more safer legal ways to get a "car high" IMO. Cruise down a back road. Go cruise a strip or show off your camaro. Anything to swell your cheast with pride same thing IMO as speed. And i have done 120+ in the past and i enjoy SLOW cruises more. More rewarding IMO

Why is everyone jumping on this guy? He never mentioned doing it on a public road, he's just curious of the top speed...

Not sure. I guess it's the Ralph Nader in all of us. I hit 135 in 4000 feet of a 5000ft long runway in a totally stock 2LT RS 6MT. I do know for a fact that the 2LT RS from the factory will reach it's governed top speed. 160 or so mph seems doable. An ungoverned SS will top 175. Only 15 mph more but above 140 the wind really starts to become progressively difficult to overcome the faster you try and go so 175 is pretty friggin remarkable for a production NA vehicle.

Governed= limited..so how do you figure this?
