Giving Back
Over the past year this forum has given me so much. Thanks everyone. Just wanted to share my latest mod which I thought might interest some people. Have a lot of other mods that I will try to get up in the near future too.
After long consideration, deliberation, and contemplation I ended up choosing a valentine1. Like everyone else I was worried about cops seeing it and getting scrutinized and people behind me "feeding" off my radar detector and what not so I went with a stealth display. I used what is called an add on circuit. Tapped into one of the switched 20 amp fuses. I bought the fuse tap thingamajig(real technical i know) from autozone. The first one I ordered offline was too big so be careful! I believe this is the right sized one, but I am not positive. Anyway what it looks like can most definitely be found at this link: http://www.amazon.com/Littelfuse-FHM.../dp/B000FIWAP0 Ultimately I popped off the A Pillar but did not remove it completely and was able to route a wire (the Valentine uses a phone wire) to the fuse box and the headliner to my mounting on the visor. The valentine 1 comes with a junction for the add on display so I put the junction in the fusebox and then routed the next phone cable from the fuse box to a slit (already there) behind the steering wheel and up to where I have the concealed display.
