I'll be the first to admit, that the Cobalt SS/SC is not the BEST FWD car in the world, but for what they can do / price, and how easy / cheeply they can be made to go fast, it's hard not to like them (IMO)... Now if you want to compare American FWD Turbo 4 bangers, i'd be hard pressed to say a SRT-4 is better than a Cobalt SS/TC. Chevy really out did themself's with that platform. (there's a reason it STILL holds the world record around the RING in it's class) As for a MK3 supra "looking" better... that is opionion, But if it makes you happy, I'll happly paint my cobalt bubble gum pink, smoke the MK3 supra with a bigger turbo and tune, then take his sister home for some Cheese, Wine and Barry White.

Ohh and as for the fun factor what better then chasing down a S/C Vett around a track.
(BTW this is NOT me, but a buddy of mine in my local car club)

Think non turboed version of any-of-those-cars were the "hot ticket?"

Non turboed/Lancers are basically Honda Civic's, 87 non turboed buicks are used for hopping/"being gangsta", and very few people in the racing scene were into suburu's N/A roots back when Paul Hogan was pushing the "Outback" and impreza counter parts. 4 cyl mustangs were for girls.

None of these cars were impressive untill the turbo was offered. Try to build any of the NA model's up for good power, waste of money IMO. The motor didn't have the potential in NA form.

The Video - Cool but at the same time unimpressive IMO. Wow a car with 50+PSI and nitrous, I would expect it to make ungodly #'s. Top-Fuel is impressive simply because they are pretty much a bomb and shake the ground and bleachers with thousands of people weighing it down.

OP - You will probably lose, weight is a bitch.

Just "figure out" who's faster, no need for 3 pages and half of it a lecture on racism. If small stuff like that hurts your feelings then how do you feel about more important things, like how our economy is going to shit and somehow we elected clowns for officials. Rant off lol.
I don't get your point. . . The engine makes most cars what they are. Most turbocharged performance oriented cars have a totally different engine than their NA counterpart, not just a turbo and some piping slapped on. Just like an SS has a totally different engine than an LT/LS

If i recall on the 4th gen supra curb weight is around 3600, and back in the day were a dead on run with the SS Camaro of the time. downside for the camaro was for a little bit of money you could get a boost controller and make it more of an unfair fight. Supra was more expensive though. TT model was a tad over 50k. When i bought mine i got it used with 30k miles for right at 30000. I had looked at the SS at the time, but for the money and the feel of the MKIV that is the way i went.

Now on the 3rd gen they were no where near what the MKIV was. But still were a handful with the right parts.
