Cheap polisher

Hi all. I have a new ,unused, buffer/polisher thats about 15 yrs old. The design weve seen for yrs, 10 in center wheel with handles on each side, .75 amp motor. It is a random orbital action. It does not turn the motor when you turn the wheel. My ? is is this thing good for anything?I know it would not do paint restoration work but I hate to through it away. an I get pads for it?

Do you have a model number and make by any chance?

In all likelihood it won't be good for much... the 10" bonnet style tools are fairly weak w/ a top unloaded OPM of 3K which after you apply pressure dips to near 2k and coupled with the shifting of the bonnet won't be able to effectively polish.

Pretty much the thing those types of orbitals are good for is removing residue for polish or wax, but not actually performing the actual task.

Ahh That's west. I've never ventured that far west. I'm about a hour and thirty minutes from Indy. I live right along the KY, IN, and OH border.

Yep. I live in Lawrenceburg if you know where that is. You can come down 74 and take 275 straight to my exit.
