Up to 4200 as of last night! Quick question... My dealer was trying to get me to sign the loan last night, but I thought this was generally something that did not happen until you took delivery? They were saying they wanted to do it right now but... owning the car right before Irene comes has me scared. Did anyone else have dealers attempt to make them sign weeks in advance?

Nope...DON'T DO IT!!

You have the right to "inspect" your vehicle before you accept it and sign the loan agreement.

Not saying your dealer is not reputable, but if you signed the papers NOW and the car was damaged (think hail and wind with this storm), I'm pretty sure you would be liable...meaning your insurance, not theirs.

I don't know why you would want to do this unless they are getting ready to hand you keys. I agree -- wait.

I actually already signed. Dealer said the car would be here as early as Tuesday, as late as the end of the week.

I just wanted to get my car the morning of and drive it away without any numbers and issues.

I was *very* happy with my dealership after it was all said and done. We had agreed on me paying the GM Preferred Price for everything and then when the invoice came, everything was listed at invoice pricing.

And they had agreed to buy my trade-in for $1000, but then on the worksheet, they put $1200.

Total fees were a $970 delivery fee (slightly upmarked, I realize), a fee of around $300, and another fee of around $200 (advertising and dealer fees, I'm sure). And lastly there was a $115 processing fee.

I would have complained and haggled, but after getting a couple hundred more on trade-in, and then getting invoice pricing, I was happy. Also the dealer threw in a free oil change as well.

So total price on my 2LT (auto transmission, RS, cargo mat, premium floor mats, engine cover, satin nickel fuel door, cargo net, footwell lighting, engine block heater) was $32,255 - $1200 (trade in) - $750 USAA discount = $30,305 final price to customer.

I paid $10k down and with very good credit was able to get 3.69% financing, which I'm happy with because it gives me a $315 car payment.

And considering my insurance will only be $66 a month, just a happy time all around.

Very cool, good for you, and I hope it arrives on time as promised.
I'm shooting for financing around $20k as well.

You'll have to post how you like the footwell lights -- I didn't know anything about them but a friend at work said they were a must. I told him he could err will be buying them if they are cheesy.
