she's a little tight, but I like it that way. I'm sure once you pull the top off, things will get a little easier

It's awesome. GM engines have always been my favorite to work on.
The only thing that looks hard to get to is the A/C compressor. Which is not a big with with 134A systems stay cold to like 120,000+ nowdays. The Stabilitrak / ASR / ABS controller is what you see right at the hood strut location. The lines on top are brake lines so that it can shoot or release brake pressure to each wheel. |

I think it's actually quite the opposite - you realize that the top of the engine is just a big, plastic cover that is just held on with a few clips, right?
I was under the hood for 20 minutes at the auto show, and even the LS3 has an amazing mount of access room. I was shocked. You can get to all the spark plugs easily, changing the serpentine belt will be a piece of cake, and if you ever need to change the water pump or an accessory like the alternator or A/C compressor, that will be an easy reach as well - lots of room between the radiator and front of the engine. Ask anyone with a 4th gen F-bod what they think about engine bay access.

![]() When I saw the car there was a lot more room than I thought. I saw the V6 only but there was still a lot of room for swapping in headers for example and spark plugs like fastball said. That engine cover is growing on me, I might just leave it on IDK. |
