Question for those of you that may know more about exhaust than I do:
I have a 2011 2LT V6 Camaro. Only a couple months old and beautiful, however, she needs to be a little louder. Nothing extreme just a little more rumble. Any suggestions?? |

You don't know, but again it's an open can of worm your are opning here...there are a fews (at least 10) choices that you will be recommended. Depends of you budget, from 400,00 to 1,000$ +...
What i suggest is to go a meets and greets and cars shows and ask questions and try to get a ride in the one you would prefer. There are lots of videos on you tube but none of them will give you the REAL sound because of poor microphones or your speakers quality. So I may start with my pick: Sole Performance MACK X LLT with J PIPES 899,00$ shipped lats heard. Easy install, no welding No drone a 70 MPH or around 1,800 to 2,000 RPM's Real great sound and gets better after a few thousand miles Made specifically for V6 Camaro, not an adapted kit. Great looks also. Getting lots of compliments everytime I get out on shows and meets: But you'll get lots of other opinions:

I remembering meeting someone with electric cut outs, and man they sound good.
But i could also suggest chopping off your resonator or muf if your are bold, maybe a cat delete if your state permits it |

MRT V.2 for sure, if you want something a little louder I hear the V.1 is the way to go. Either way its decently priced and install is a snap. Once you get a few miles on it for the mufflers to season it sounds even better !

What sound do you want? Just louder or sound like a V8? V8 sound from a 6 is REALLY hard to get. (Tried that several times...no luck)

I've listened to a few on youtube and the MRT v2 is a def option. I've been told that I should just leave it as is because it'll sound like crap (because its V6 and not a V8). Its hard for me to describe what sound I want. Just a little more rumble. I just feel that the factory exhaust doesn't give the Camaro the presence it deserves. Thanks for the opinions. I may be opening a can of worms but opinions are what I want! It helps lead my research.

I even had quite a few people compliment the exhaust at the autocross event I was at today. And that was coming from some v8 drivers with some really nice cars!! I don't think it will sound like crap if you do an exhaust... just pick one that works for you! Check out the v6 bolt on forum as well-- lots of exhaust threads there.

I'm another satisfied owner of the MRT version 2. You will notice the increase in performance but mostly in sound. Check out the various exhaust videos on here and youtube, put some nice headphones on, and decide for yourself based on the sound you are looking for.
As for exhaust making the v6 sound like crap, thats just foolish. Mine sounds 100x better than stock and im always getting compliments. My fiances dad who is a mechanic was shocked when I told him I didnt have a v8 when he heard mine. |
