Hello Camaro fans! As I have gotten beaten by a cold and don't have any better to to then surf the web I decided to register and post some photos of the Camaro Cup Racing car, a swedish racing series composed of 6 races each season and almost 40 starting cars.

The chassi have been developed by Howe Racing in Michigan. The engine is based on the 5,7L ZZ4 block using alu heads and is built according to the cup rules (GM Performance parts) witch ends up producing ~445hp, 670Nm running on E85. Michelin slicks, 6-pot Wilwood on AP Racing discs in front, 4-pot Wilwood on GM discs in back. Öhlins coilovers. 4-speed Richmond super T10 gearbox. All fiberglass body (A new front in ABS plastic have been developed, usually you can just "pop" the dents out of it an be on your way again, it's that soft - and light!). Our car is also equipped with the optional Aim MXL digital dash/logger.

The (Swedish) Camaro Cup committee have been working with interests in USA to run two races on your home field, perhaps the events would inspire and get people to start talking about organizing an American Camaro Cup series? How knows. Over here the CCR races draws a big audience at the events!

These two events will occur at:
Sebring International Raceway 10-11-12 February
Palm Beach International Raceway 17-18-19 February

Although the whole thing hinges on that at least 20 cars will have to register for entry in the near future. Judging from the response from the teams at the annual meeting the attitude was very positive. So I'm hopeful we will make it over seas for racing!

The races have the official GREEN LIGHT! The minimum amount of registered cars for entry have been reached!

That is soo BADASS! I want one. Why can't we revive the trans am series with cars like these?

I second it...though NASCAR would never show favoritism to any one american car company...though it would be fun to watch with all camaro bodies on the vehicles...just not much of the real camaro inside...too bad the Sweds did it before us with our beloved Americana!
