Battery in the trunk

So I had no idea until just now that the battery was trunk floor. Just didnt pay much attention to the engine bay pics I guess. There are only positive and negative posts.

Helps with both battery life and weight distribution. The Z06's and HHR's are both set up like that too.

Seems to be the current trend of Chevrolet cars man. Not sure why. Even the Cobalt SS/SC has it's battery in the trunk with extension battery leads running to the front of the car for those embarassing moments when you need a jumpstart. Next thing you know, they'll be putting the engine in the trunk too. Strange world we live in.

it's also to keep power to alert OnStar in the event of a head-on collision. also shielding it better from the weather helps keep the terminals from corroding.

My 2009 CTS4 has battery in trunk also with quick disconnect.
