I added the HUD to my 1SS, and you don't need a new dash, but you need to cut the hole out for the bezel and HUD unit. You also need an electrical harness to make it all work. I ordered all my HUD stuff from gmpartshouse.com However, the only person that makes the harness is a camaro5 member named 2SSRS. He also does installation as well. That's how I got mine done. Also, you don't "NEED" a new windshield for the HUD. However, the "HUD Windshield" has a specific coating on it that improves the clarity of the projected display greatly. There is a little double image on the NON-HUD windshield, but for me, it's completely fine, and subtle enough. If it bothers you, then you can replace the windshield with the specific HUD one.

In terms of the 4-pack auxilary gauges, they are a simple plug-n-play unit that can be bought from gmpartshouse and gmpartsdirect. They both sell them cheaper, and I know gmpartshouse (not sure if GMparts direct has the better version though) has a better quality unit that doesn't have the gauges just zip-tie to the bezel. Instead, it screws in for added security and durability. I believe they sell it for around $299. A lot of other online stores that sell the 4-pack gauges sell the zip-tie version which is cheap and they sell the unit for more expensive than the authorized gm dealers.

Just FYI if you buy them from someone who took them off a 2LT/2SS (which is cheaper since you can find them on ebay), you'll need an additional harness to make them work.

No problem . I hope my description helps inform people a little about it before they do it. I know I did a ton of research before hand with the HUD. The 4-pack is easier obviously, but I had to dig deeper to find out that some of the versions were zip-tied gauges. I didn't like that at all. How cheap is that, you know? I'd much rather have the improved screw-in type.

and the aux gage cluster about 500 ease install from what i herd both are plug and play but the HUD will be a b!tch to do after the fact.

Leather seats and plastic door and dash trim too besides that nothing else lol. Oh and a red SS badge compared to the white you will be geting

He only wanted to know about gauges. He would only have to buy the appropriate 4 pack gauge set for his/her car. It's plug and play.

HUD can be added without a new dash. Just cut the hole for it. Lastly red SS badges do not signify a 1ss it is for ALL SS cars that have the RS package. White SS means no RS.

Yes that was what i was saying i was just explaining ever thing else he COULD upgrade later slowly when he has money to make it a 2SS/RS (witch i am doing but a 2LT slowly) though IMO he should keep the white RS badge cause it did not come with the RS package from the factory. Unless he is geting the RS package in the first place

I have the gauges on my 1SS and paid $400.00 for them installed at the dealers. In my opinion, it is money well spent.

No such thing as a white rs badge. A non rs v6 has no badge. A rs v6 has as a red rs badge. A non rs v8 has a white ss badge. A rs v8 has a red ss badge.
