ok, i just tried to attach my bolts for the cover . after pulling off the seat cover, i found that the bolt hole was plugged with a flat plastic threaded bolt. i could not remove this.
did anyone else find these in the bolt holes and if so, how did you remove them? just had to be something making this easy job impossible for me (frustration). dont want the dealer messing with my car for this "easy job".

That doesn't look like a bolt, just one of those one time use "christmas tree" fasteners. Use a trim removal tool or a flat head screw driver to pry it out.

I can't quite tell from the pictures, but you 'might' be looking in the wrong place.
My car is in the shop so I can't take pictures of the location myself, and I can't seem to find the photos I saw a long time ago on this site. It should be in a thread titled 'my tonneau nearly took flight'. Normally if you look in the bag for the tonneau cover, the bolts AND a single sheet of paper with instructions on it should be there. I would also suggest you take your cover, place it on the car (if you haven't already tried this), take the long forward section that fits down behind the seat, insert it then look with a flashlight and see where either the locking tabs or the loops (depending on what year your vert is), and look for a bolt hole that would be in the right place. Be very carefull when installing the nut on the bolt as it's very easy to drop it and lose it forever in the great beyond. |

Thanks, all. I pulled out the plastic Xmas trees and was able to install the bolts (with locking washers) today. Have yet to use the Tonnneau cover though. I will need it for the car show the 18th.

I can't believe you pay over $40,000 and have to put a damn cover manually over your top and it is not a metal power cover. It is a pain to put on and off when it should be part of the push button power of the top. Just my 2 cents.
