I recently discovered plasti dip and have already bought 3 cans of the spray. It seems that doing small areas turn out best and unless your a pro, doing a large are looks like spray paint due to seeing strokes. I have 8 ideas so far. I would like to add hood spears, the indentation of the lower door, the shaped part of the mirror, the gills, rear trunk blackout, and the rear difuser. The last two I am not sure about. I would like to plasti dip my wheels but not the whole thing. I just want the inside or "sides" of the 5 spokes to be painted black leaving the outside part midnight silver. The other idea is painting the spoiler. Maybe the whole thing or some of the cut lines making it two toned. If I did that I wouldnt do the rear deack lid black out. I have a hard time visualizing the wheels and spoiler because I dont think I have seen it done before. I guess the great part is the stuff just peels off if I don't like it or mess up. I thought about doing the lower grill black out but I dont think it lookes right on the V6 front facia. Any thoughts?
Here is a video of a member who has done some of my ideas. Mirrors, door indentations etc.. BTW Good morning. Very gloomy here in Ohio right now. Loving the lower temps but wish it would stop raining! I'm afraid my intake that goes down and behind my fog lights is going to suck up rain water

I'd spray the handles of your tools with it. And put a nice coat of wax on the car.

I plastiDipped the small indentation on my wheels(the small indent just below the lugnut). Came out very good(lots of masking tape used). I also PlastiDipped the taillight bezels..That came out Fantastic!!! Good Luck!!!

Wow, That's really cool. Does it mess up the paint at all and will it start to peel off? I've been looking into blacking out the tail light bezels as well as a few decals, but plasti dip would probably be a lot easier for what I'm wanting to do.
Post pics of yours too if you get a chance, I'm really interested to see it. |

Plasti-dip is great stuff. I did my bezels about a month ago and they still look good.

Good stuff! You make it seem so easy :(!
Btw just making extra sure! The plasti-dip peals off correct? Does it hold up pretty well as time passes by? |

Really scared to do it seeing as how I just got the car. Maybe I'll go out on a whim and try it this weekend on the front, lower fascia. |

I tried it on my bezels but I didn't like it. It felt rubbery and like if I washed my car I'd have to bee to careful around them or I'd rub some off. SO I fine grit sanded the heck out of them and did them with flat black Rust-o and it came out great. Wont the plastidip rub off when you go to wash with a cloth or something? I bet you cant use your random orbital buffer anymore...

Yes regular blue painters tape works. Check out the "plasti-dip application tips" link in my signature.
