That was pre launch. So if they wanted to features could be changed.

The car also has AFCM. You hit the traction contol button three times and a "twinkie" with a slash lights up in the driver information center. Then the passenger door automatically locks, the windows go up and the car dumps the clutch at 6400 rpm leaving a 140 foot long patch of rubber in a cloud of smoke.

AFCM (Anti Fat Chick Mode)

I heard that with the AFCM on the car can do a low 12 and rumor has it If she's really big even a high 11.

keeps the car from going sideways, or losing control.

Why would you want to keep the car from going sideways, that is what I am buying the thing for!

I think you don't want to run into a soccer mom's van coming back with a car full of kids.

It's for safety purposes obvioulsy.
You also want to be able to better control the car in rain and snow. Having stabilitrack off in normal driving situations will have you wrapped around a tree/lightpole really quick.

P.S. I know you're probably joking. This was just a disclaimer for everyone else.

Any added cost should be minimal with electronic throttles and all these days, and it's easily turned off so it simply adds flexibility. Not a big feature for me but still kind of cool IMO. Besides, there's a lot of fun to be had with a manual transmission than just shifting through the 1/4 mile though.

yea but you only slide sideways when the wheels are spinning...and if traction control cuts the power when your wheels lose traction it will stop the wheels from spinning thus stopping your car from sliding...isnt that what stabilitrak does? i mean what does it do differently...i just dont get it...

or does it only cut the power on the side your slide towards?

LAUNCH CONTROL ?

a few reviewers used it but found they actually ran quicker with just the driver's right hand and two feet

Found this: "If the vehicle’s dynamic response does not agree with the direction the driver is steering, StabiliTrak goes to work by selectively applying the individual front brakes to help keep the car on the intended course. If the car is slipping wide of the desired path in a turn, applying the inside brake helps the vehicle turn tighter. In case of diminished traction at the rear causing the tail of the car to drift wide, activating the outside-front brake gently nudges the car back in line. StabiliTrak is automatic and requires no additional driver action......" (http://www.acarplace.com/brands/gm/gadgets.html)

its a great feature to have, and on competitive mode (which is the setting I always drive on), it lets you get a little sideways and spin the tires some before the computer kicks in. Actually makes you look pretty heroic without risking your expensive ride too much. And you can always turn it off for burnouts.

And I am Sure within a few months IF they haven't already someone will have a plug-n-play module that will have it OFF by default. Like the SkipShift eliminator mod.

SLP made a module for 4Th GEN, to have the traction control OFF by default.
