Question Air Raid Intake Question

I purchased an Air Raid CAI for my car around May or June of 2010. I had admittedly not done very much research, but there weren't a lot of options that I could dig up so I decided to go with it. I've not had any issues with it but I've read that there are some problems with it, although no one has said what they are. Anyway, should I be looking into replacing it, or should it be ok? Thoughts?

Did you purchase it brand new or used? If it is new it should be a version 2, but you may want to be sure. The version 2 has an insert inside of the intake tube, while version 1 does not, and instead has a bit "air ramp" looking thing. You don't want version 1.

Version 2 will be fine, no worries!

I bought it new, I want to say it was a V2..but I'm not sure. Is there anyway to tell without taking the tube back off?

Just take the filter off and grab a flashlight if you need it and peer inside. If you don't see a big hump, your good.

or feel the bottom of the air tube just behind where the MAF sensor plugs in (closer to the filter). If there is an ident about as wide as the MAF and 2" deep, you've got a V-1.
If not you've got the V-2.

Nothing wrong with the Airaid CAI. It has performed in the upper 1/3 of all the CAI's tested side by side to date.
