April only? How's anyone supposed to get a new Camaro covered under this plan?

I also saw in the new commercial advertising this program that GM will now guarantee trade-in value if you choose to trade in your car sometime in the future.

This is probably the best thing that GM could have done to entice people to buy cars.
It sounds more like they will simply guarantee that you will not be "upside-down" when you trade in. So it will probably only apply to GMAC loans that had a minimum percentage down payment. Maybe it will work out, who knows? I'd like the idea of trading in two years from now and getting a HUD convertible in ralleye green. Or maybe a direct injection LS3 with a 3.73 rear end.

It only lasts 2 years. After that, the trade-in value is NOT protected at all.

Not going to help too many buyers, imo.

Just my 2 cents worth but rather than a bunch of smoke & mirror stuff what would help me purchase a new Camaro (would be my 13 new Chevy since 1996) is IF I could find a local dealer who isn't asking me to pay MSRP to get a new Camaro. Same old GM crap as with any new model - charge MSRP (or more) for as long as they can get it & then see the vehicles start to pile up on dealers lots once the initial purchases have been made. Saw it with the SSR, 95-96 Impala SS, C5's, and the Z06's. Same thing back to my first new car purchase - my 1977 Camaro Z-28! Poor business practice and puts a bad taste in your mouth and makes me want to look elsewhere. Especially when new Challengers & Shelby's are being discounted by thousands.

The Payment Protection last 2 yrs. Covers upto 9 months.
The trade-in equity requires that you at least make half of the payments in your loan term.
For those that are complaining that this program will not be available when (we) you take delivery, it wasn't available when you ordered, so why all the crying?

"4. In order to take advantage of this program, do I have to finance or lease through GMAC?

No, you can finance or lease the vehicle through any financial institution."

Go to camaro5's earlier post to find the link..All answers are under the "questions" tab.

It covers up to 5K negative equity, and even will cover up to 2.5K, if you sell private party... (of course, with purchase of new GM)

But I guess it would be too easy to get facts from Direct from the source, easier to speculate and complain.... LOL

Payment Protection

Where does it state anything about your wife losing her job? Just say we buy the car together so does that mean either her or I lose our job we get the 9 month payment taken care of or what?! Because either one of us loses our job we cannot pay for the Camaro.

If all of the jobs created in canada by us buying the camaro here in the US is not the biggest perk of all tell me what is. Were sending you our money quit complaining.
