The 08 SS Impala I bought from Fox Chevy in Timonium,Md [Where Amelia & I are taking our Camaro deliveries] had about 8 miles on it when I bought it. I put about 10 miles on it test driving it before buying it. Contract listed 18 miles at delivery. The Gate Pass [Oshawa #2] was dated 5/27/09 and I took delivery 6/18/09. There is an obvious highway test path right by the dealer, so these miles make sense.

Now that Amelia already warned 'em, I won't have to!!!

You know now that you mention it, I would have the dealer fix it, and let them deal with the newbe that jacked it up. It's just a car than can be fixed, nothing to have a heart attack over a demand that someone loses there job over. Thats not the customers place.

My dad's Charger had half a mile on it when he picked it up. He couldn't believe it and took a pic with his cell phone. Our local Dodge dealer has some lazy people working at it and just wrote off that they did the PDI but really didn't :(

Anything over 100 miles, I would be asking questions. I've heard of cars coming off of trailers with 80-90 miles on them. Personally with a car like the Camaro, I would be less worried about the 10 or so miles on the car and more about how it was driven for those miles. Too many horror stories about Corvettes and G8's coming off of trailers with rubber on the fender wells and dealers increasing the price because they had to put new tires on the back.

I was just a kid then and didn't think to ask who put those miles on it. I think my current car had like 200 miles on it, but it sat in the dealer lot for a few months before I bought it and was still considered new (for financing purposes anyway). So, what would you consider an acceptable odometer reading for your brand new car?
I can bet you won't see this

and NUCAR what is your take of mileage on a car at delivery? and is there any chance a person might be able to get a picture of the odometer before the dealer test?

It depends if Mr. Scott's transporter is working properly. Judging by our first car, it looks like the cars may be "bayed" several times at the plant. Is this for QC inspection, stripe application or . 2-3 is the lowest I have seen, with the above exception . Our PDI loop is only 1/2 mile. We usually make several circuits to make sure the car is hooking properly . Would you like your pix before or after the water box?

My 1995 z28 had 6/10 of 1 mile on it when I bought it off the showroom in November of 94.

My corvette was museum delivery (right across the street), and had 5.5 miles on it.

I asked out of curiosity and they told me anywhere around 6-7 was normal for the vette. If there is more sometimes the car on inspection has some sort of issue and they go back to get worked on, so those can have more.

I would plan on being there at the dealer if you can and watch over them like a hawk. I always try to keep them from detailing or anything, I want to do that myself. Just let them know that you care and your watching them.

08 Tahoe has 14 miles I think
05 Avalanche had 72 but that was because they drove it down from Connecticut so we forgave them

We got an 02 Trailblazer once that had 4 on it - that's the lowest I ever saw

I would agree 7-10...you bought the car, you paid for the car, and you should feel good about being the person to put the first double dldgets on it!

irpq11, that's a great point about the "No Dealer Emblem." Basically I tried to get it removed off my Cobalt SS/SC when I bought it and it ruined the paint job. I wish they'd inform you of that when you buy new cars BEFORE they do it.
