I heard from the scrape yards that late 2010 inventory 5th Gen where recycled the 2011 new model. If so what the Vin’s # should be?

Hi MelodyK, the last six digits of your VIN are the relevant numbers in this case -- 212509 -- with the first 2 being the series identifier (usually 2 is for 2011, but I'm not sure how the special editions were handled) and the last 5 being the "serial number" if you will. In other words, in series two, you have car number 12509. If you would like to know that the rest of the VIN means, let me know. The other number might be engine-specific, but I'm not sure what number you're refering to. There is also a sticker on the suspension, visible in front of your engine in front of the passenger's front tire, that will give you the date and time of the suspension/chassis build, which is approximately 4 days prior to finally assembly from what I've been told. I hope this info helps you out.

Only thing is, the numbers aren't sequential because the Oshawa plant makes Buick (Regals?) too...

I was just wondering this the other day. It looks like my 2011 is 116674. Sticker reads 8/6/2010 7:39 am.

They do make Buick Regals (every 10th vehicle off the line) but I'm not sure if they count those in the sequence or not. Its a good question.

Wow, I never bothered to look up my sequence number. I didn't realize just how early on in production my Camaro was assembled.

I emailed Chevrolet to find out how many 2011 convertibles were produced.
This is an excerpt from the response. "We understand your enthusiasm in obtaining this information. Unfortunately, current model year production figures are available the first quarter of the following year."
