My 12 is going in tomorrow for the rub marks. Dealership seemed surprised that I already had a case number before they saw it. Told them I was ahead of the game. Also going to have my rear window squeak/grinding issue, and the paint that is chipping off my doors looked at. Should be an interesting day after work tomorrow.

I took in my car to the dealer yesterday because the trunk was not always releasing (yes there's a TSB for that) and a recall on the A/C. The car is one week old. Since I now read this forum, I left a voice mail to my adviser before I dropped off the car about the top rub marks TSB. Although I don't have any yet, I figured let's apply the fix to prevent it. Makes sense? When I dropped off the car she had the TSB for the top printed off. She said she found it but cannot work on it unless the problem presents itself. Ok I said no problem. She gave me the printout. For crying out loud it's rated a .5 hour of work which probably means it takes 10 minutes. Why don't they just do all the cars? No need to answer I know; 30 minutes at $125/h times thousands of cars is alot of money but it still seems silly to me.

My car is now in the shop. The service tech said he has yet to see a convertible except mine come in for service. Hope that is not a bad sign. Still waiting on a call from them to see if they need to order parts. If so I can pick it up and enjoy the 80 degree temps that are coming this weekend. If not, hopefully I will get it back by Friday.

Good luck man!

Your the first I've heard of with a vert built beyond April with this issue... hope you have better luck than the rest of us did

It's just rubbing on the sides. Going to have it looked at and make sure it is on file. Also getting the rear window squeak/grinding taking care of along with the rear window trim coming loose. They are also going to fix the paint chipping off my door edges.

GM case opened. The new top also leaks like a sieve. Take a garden hose on gentle sprinkle, spray the passenger side of the car gently along the belt line/where the top meets the body and along the trim at the rear window. A PUDDLE of water. Not just damp carpet but a PUDDLE.

unbelievable. .and the service manager tells me this is the best they can do, take my business elsewhere.

I don't know where else to vent right now.

Guy tried to tell me all the things wrong with it were there before I dropped it off. Little does he know I am obsessed with my car, I know every square inch of it and I take dozens of high quality pics every time I add something. Came home and looked through my 502 pictures I have of my car and will be taking my laptop up there to have a word with his manager.

Keep bringing it back until the lemon law kicks in, that's what I'd do. Unless I really liked the car - but with problems like that, I don't see how I could keep it. Got rid of an '82 Datsun 280ZX Turbo in '87 because of water problems that couldn't be solved, and I really liked that car. Mold and mildew changed my mind.

That is why Jeff Morris opened a case for me and I brought it in. If they can't fix it then I have a paper trail to follow if push comes to shove.

Wow I didn't realize that so many of us are having the rear window grind going on. looks like I will be making an appointment for my issues (bad rub marks ~ almost a hole now & window grind) before I put her away. I just don't want to give her up when I know I only have a few more weeks to enjoy it.

The window grind is the regulator for the particular window. They replaced mine in one day.

My 2011 convertible, had the grinding left rear window etc....the dealership said that the regulator was loose from the rivets and they had to reorder a new regulator unit assembly, put it in yesterday and it looks great and works quietly now....about the trunk, someone posted here that they have times they can't get into the trunk....what I have found, when lowering the top, and the chime goes off ( which signals that the top motion is done) keep holding the down button for 3 more seconds, sometimes the top doesn't completely go down and trip the relay that allows you to get into the trunk....try this "fix" !!

Stopped by the Ft Pierce dealer today to kill time, I checked the tops and 3 of the 5 on the lot already had small wear marks starting in the passenger sides, when a salesman cane out, I pointed this out... he seemed irritated and said "that's nothing" and walked away.... nice to know they care about preventing a problem...

On a side note, I also looked at the engine bays (for those who've seen my post on the discoloration) as already known, all verts engine bays are clear coated (despite my dealer saying otherwise) and the white V6 vert they had already had slight yellow/brown discoloration around the strut towers... silver, red, iom and black were all fine.
