Welcome Mole, and thanks for the info you can share with us.

I went through this exact process when I bought my Saturn Sky Redline in 2006. Since then we(Skyroadster.com) have been lucky enough to set up a day each year where we visit the Plant in Willmington Delaware. We call it the Mecca Tour. The third annual event is coming up this may 15th. We actually get to walk the assembly line and talk to the workers while they do there job. I have much more respect for auto workers......there is a REAL PRIDE that comes with building these cars. Hopefully some day someone will set that same thing up for Camaro's.......I will talk to the managers at the Willmington Plant and see if I can stir things up. Last year we had 150+ Cars and almost 300 people show up from around the country.........It was incredibly cool to see all those cars come home for the day!

Thank You for all your hard work, and tell your co-workers that they should know that we REALLY appreciate all their hard work. And that the extra care they put in to build us these cars, does not go unnoticed by us. These cars that go past you every day on the line are a major part of our lives once they hit our garages, and we take pride in showing them at the local car show.

So from a real car lover to someone who is building my next baby.......when you see a Silver heading toward Yorktown NY, take extra good care of her for me! Thanks for all you care and the info! If you ever come to NY let me know and I will take you out for a beer!

P.S. - I am extremely happy that senior workers are building these cars......there is no better teacher than real world experience!

I'm pretty sure that it's been stated here many times that they are only building Camaro's one shift per day.

They are the same color.....I've seen it on the ZR1 Corvette at Indy and Scott said it was the same color gray that is going on the Camaro.
