Does only the vert come with an strut tower brace?

I should know this but I dont. Many of the cars I have looked at had a strut tower brace. I took delivery of a 12 that did not. Is it a vert thing or an RPO thing? I have a 1SS. Thinking back, many of the cars I looked at after placing my order were verts. I expected to see a strut tower brace on mine. No worries, just a Camaro fact I think I should know.

Only other surprize was GM stuck my rear "SS" on crooked. Lol, I guess we all can't be perfect.

Vert thing, but you can still add the GM bar. The strut towers in the later models all have the 3 bolt holes to accept it.

It's needed for the Vert only. All others = a cosmetic thing. Not sure why a ZL1 would need one unless its a Vert as well.

I would guess, more horsepower & more torque results in more frame/body twist stress to point where adding the brace would be a good thing especially because it's so simple to add.
IIRC back when they started putting the higher HP engines in the early mustangs, they did the same thing, adding bracing between the shock towers and the firewall.

Stiffer is better (or so I've heard)

Cool, just neat to know at this point. I don't know if my supercharger will fit under one anyway

I would guess that it would indeed fit under the stock strut brace, or the SC manufacturer would offer a replacement strut brace that would be compatable with thier product.
The only thing that might be a problem is if the SC needed a strut brace that went up high enough to interfere with the hood.

I'm curious about the hardware.

My '11 does not have the holes pre-drilled for installation. What kind of hardware is included with the brace...and is there enough access under the strut to get in there with a nut or bolt?

Please tell me this isn't attached with sheet metal screws!

Unless you're tracking your car, cosmetic. Although with the vert and no roof to add extra stiffness to the car, it must be needed.

I would like to know this as well. I'm sure it comes with heavy duty bolts & nuts. My 11 doesn't have holes either, that's really why I haven't gotten one yet. I just don't really want to start drilling holes in my new car The brace made a huge difference on the 4th gen. It made the car feel much stiffer & more solid on hilly straits & the corners. I'm not sure of the handling & difference it would make on the 5th gen body. Anyone that has one have any input?

On the mid 2011-2012 models they have threaded holes.

The GM bar only comes with bolts that feed into those threaded holes. They do not supply any hardware that will allow you to attach it to a 2010 early 2011.

I know the aftermarket bars come with hardware but they will require drilling as well.
