i would keep the v6 until you're ready to upgrade to a v8. 45th anniversary package looks cool, but i don't really see the reason to lose the money via depreciation on your current car in order to get the same car with a slightly different appearance.

I am really not interested in the V8. I don't have the need for the horse power or speed. If I did I would get a Vette. This is an nice upgrade considering what they have added in 2012 and what I do not have now. Depreciation is a fact of life as long as you are not upside down you just look to minimize the exposure IMO.

Thought about that too. Haven't said anything they don't know.

Thanks for the input.

I paid invoice for my 2012 1SS. I wouldn't pay any more than invoice.

dont pay more then invoice because at invoice the dealer is still making AT LEAST $961 on the car you want to buy!!! so when they tell you this is the best we can do you tell them to go kick rocks!!!

OK made my best deal at the first dealer. 32000 plus 21500 for my car. $1000 Pontiac incentive and 825 GM card helps. Second dealer low balled me on the trade with basically the same price for the car. I walked out on him too. Hoping he calls to follow up and I can tell him he's beat. Pick her up today.

I've seen car salesmen admit on GMinsideNews that if the customer is "happy" with the value of the trade, it's been made up elsewhere. Normally people are not satisfied with the trade-in.

Just sell your car beforehand if the dollars involved are so close. Get the cash and bum a ride for a week. You can definately conclude a deal much faster without a trade involved, and probably bargain with a dealer and drive the new car back on the same day.

There is a major tax advantage to trading in. I saved $1500 on the tax because of the trade.
