And if he bought a 2010 Mustang he left 100 horse on the table for both V6 and V8 models. Dick of a dealer, and OP's not a real car guy if he changed model/make b/c of a dick dealer.

Weird, I had the opposite experience. Here is what happened to me at a ford dealer:

A few months back I was looking at a local ford dealer to drive and possibly purchase a 5.0 (I had already drove the challanger and camaro before this). I went in and got a great salesman and everything. Went for the test drive which went well. We start talking about prices and packages (the one i had drove was a totally decked out 5.0 with stuff I didn't really want at the time I was going to purchase). So my sales guy takes the info to the sales manager. Now they are discussing this within ear distance of one cube away from me. They sales manager tells him out loud, "What is he doing in here anyway, why did you let him test drive a 40,000 car when he know's he cannot afford it."

After I had heard that, I walked out. The next day I had to pick up something from parts at the same ford dealer but this time I rolled up in my new 44k SS.

The look on that guys face was damn priceless. He tried to talk to me and asked if I needed help. I told him that yesterday I had gotten all the help I needed from him and that since I could not afford the 38,000 mustang, I opted for the 44K camaro.

He was pissed.

1) get your order # from your dealer
2) go to gmconnects.com/chevroletconnects.com -same thing
3) put in info, then order number and track. You will receive emails when your order updates.

To put info as your signature...
4) Click USER CP at top of page ^, then EDIT SIGNATURE on left of page and put in you info.

Okay so lets talk about Ford Dealers.....my company vehicle is a 2011 Expedition and has had a whistling noise coming from the A/C since day one. I call them yesterday to schedule another appointment (they have had it before for the same issue) so that they can acutally have it all day. Now keep in mind this is warranty work....I ask the service manager if they will put me in a rental so I can get back home his response was "We dont have any rental money to put you in a rental" WTH this is a big inconvience for me considering I'm having to take time off work in order have it fixed. Not to mention the guy acted like since it is a company vehicle I shouldn't complain and deal with it.....with that said its not the manufacture, but the dealer!!!!

have fun with the mustang and hope that you enjoy it I like them as well, but dont knock Chevy when dealerships are privately owned

If you'd done your homework you would know more about the car than the dealer.. Anytime I'm spending that much money I study the crap out of it and don't mind waiting to make sure I get exactly what I spec'd out.

It's quite obvious you couldn't afford the 27k Camaro and wouldn't have bought it anyway. Enjoy your purchase... hope you did the right thing for you.

You guys really gotta change this "Chevy" dealership and "Ford" dealership to just "The" dealership. Its about "the" dealership doing or not doing, not the "Chevy or "Ford" part.

Just like car forums, you got your good members and you got your bad members.

I can see that. If I had to sell Fords, I'd probably be an azz-wipe too. But first I would have to lose my mind to even be in a Ford dealership.

I love this story. Shows what happens when people are ignorant. What an idiot to even speculate something like that, let alone speak it out loud. How does he know what you can afford? Oh well, it worked out for you in the long run (no Ford) and I would have loved to see their faces!!

It's all about the dealer. My dealer was great. I purchased when they were first coming out and it was a great experience. Best part was THE CALL. When it's finally here. Got to see it fresh off the truck. They took excellent care of me, but I knew that at the start. If a dealer sucks I would never buy from them. You know what you'll end up having to deal with in the future should you have any problems.

I will say presentation is everything and looks can be deceiving. If you're a young guy and dressed like a thug chances are slim anyone would let you drive an expensive car. Especially if you roll up in a POS. It always helps to dress nice and at least have a friend drive you up in a nice looking car. Not that it SHOULD matter, but it DOES.

As for how long orders take. My brother ordered a new 2012 Mustang GT and they said about 8-10 weeks. His production date is scheduled for the week of Oct 10th. Can't wait to go "play" with him.
