Salesman deciding for the dealer

I hope to just say the salesman is confussed. He has about 48 hours to figure it out, but here is the situation:

I called a dealer I know to order a 45th Anniversary 2SS. The dealer (being a former employer, I am now active duty Marine Corps) agreed to sell the car at invoice and the Hennessey package for what ever he was charged for it. (Dealer is a major supporter of military)

Now that the car is bayed and waiting for stripes, I needed some paperwork to send to USAA for the loan. The Saleman sent me the information with MSRP numbers. I laughed at him and explained the deal I had with the dealer. He sent me back "Preferred Pricing" and explained that was the same as invoice pricing. ($900.00 over invoice) Hahaha, he told me that all the stuff on the internet is wrong and USAA does not know what the real pricing is. Oh yea, he also has said nothing about the Hennessey pricing. I wasn't even going to ask for that. I only wanted invoice on the car.

I sent him the USAA pricing off their web site. He said the preferred pricing was the best he could do. Well, 6 dealers have called since I put my information into the USAA site wantiing to honor the price.

It will be interesting to see if he plans to pay to have the soon to be unsold car shipped back from Hennessey and add that to the cost! (It is being drop shipped to Hennessey Performance for upgrades that I am sure they will not pay for if it is not sold!) I am getting the loan done on Thursday...I can have the check made out to him or one of the other 6 dealers that are leaving messages on my answering machine at home.

Contact the person you made the original deal with. I am sure he or she will honor it!

Sorry to hear about your troubles on the vehicle. The dealership you are working with, have they confirmed with you any additional details since we last spoke? My GM Updates are not showing any delay with stripes!

You are sooooooo right. I hope it did not come across that way! Hennessey has been awesome is working with me though this. I just do not plan to give up the name of the dealer until I get his final word. He has two days to make it right. Either way, I am sending the car to Hennessey!!! You guys have been great!
