I'm going to have to hit someone up on here to give me a hand w/ this cause I'm electrically stupid. I'm sure once I get into it it'd be easy but just by reading it, I am a bit uneasy about this. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to tackle this.

Which purple wire do I tap in to? I have a 2010 2LT, do i use the light purple or dark purple wire? Pictures show one thing and some posts say another. Any pics?

I haven't read anywhere that there maybe a heat issue with the converter and the wiring. Anyone have that problem or notice that??

I have had the mod for some time and no heat issues yet. Of course I have not had it through the brutal humid heat of the Mid Atlantic summers yet. We shall see. The only issue I am having albeit small, is there is a slight "flicker" when turned on. It is only noticeable when sitting idle. The flicker is so slight that the vibrations/movements while driving make it undetectable. But never the less it bothers me while standing still. I am using the 0-4' converter. Does anyone think the flicker is due to under powering and I should go with the 4-8' box?

Thanks, Jr

I have about 20 feet of the fire red el wire(enough to do dash and doors), (very orange looking) but I have a great concept to make it red( I took a stained glass spray paint and painted my tubes red, it worked great!) Anyways, I have everything necessary, 4 drivers, 3 splitters, about 4 male and female adaptors! If anybody is interested in purchasing this, please pm me! I decided to go an alternate route! Id obviously sell it at a discounted price! Save ya a few bucks!

P.s. I have 10 feet of the blue to match the stock el wire as well, and parts necessary, driver, adapter, etc.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread guys and gals, but thought I'd let you in on an idea that I had.

I wanted to use EL wire because I thought it'd give a more finished look though it does require a bit more tech skills. When I went to the EL Wire online store, I noticed that they had a new product called EL Wire 'Tail Wire', http://elwireonline.com/ez_mount_tail_el_wire_. Naturally, because this 'tail' lends itself to being able to be tucked into crevices such as our doors and dash, I thought I'd give it a try since it avoids us having to sand the dash.

Anyway, so I get to ordering it... TWICE!! The first time it came in the mail, it was normal EL wire, no tail. I called and the teenager just chuckled and said send it back via ground using our UPS account. It was REJECTED for some reason and sent back to me with a UPS bill. The second time, I said specifically, TAIL WIRE on the order form and paypal form; what do I get??? Exactly, normal EL wire again!!

So frustrated with this company right now. I want to return this stuff that I purchased for $100 but they charge a 25% restock fee!

Moral of this story? DO NOT BUY FROM THESE STUPID CANADIAN KIDS!! My apologies. I had such anticipation for the tail wire that I wanted to vent and to let this forum know that this vendor does not deserve our hard earned american dollars.

I doubt them being Canadian has anything to do with it, and it's not like your american dollar is any more special. That's just bad customer service. There's got to be somewhere else online to order the tail wire from. I'll try to avoid these guys when I order, thanks for the heads up.
