Find another dealer. That's ridiculous.

Out of all the 45ths ive seen here in Orlando, Ive only seen them in auto, so yes...demand is higher for the A6, therefore resale would probably be higher too. Standard statistics.
But on the other hand, youre going to sit there and let some total stranger tell you how you should spend your money? If you want a manual, get a manual. Find Becky on here and do your order through her. She can have your car shipped to a dealer nearby for a damn good price. I <3 my 45th manual.

Ok here is the deal. I have a deal in principal at invoice price on this car. A preliminary order (code 1100) was put into the system for an auto trans car. Evidently the dealer has had people with ordered cars back out of deals and is afraid if I back out, he will be left with a manual trans car that is a harder sell. I asked the dealer why that car would be a harder sell. He explained that alot of his Camaro buyers are of older age due to the demographic in the area and most do not want to shift. This situation was kind of my fault since I went back and forth between manual and automatic. I admit they sold me on the automatic and they know I tend to trade out of cars often. They advised to get the auto since it does bring more on a trade.
Fast forward 24 hours and I have decided to go with the 6spd Manual. This is for many reasons such as dreaded AFM, extensive engine work to get rid of the AFM, weight etc......I called the dealer and they will change the order tomorrow, before it gets pulled for allocation. Hopefully, if all goes well the car will be a 2SS, 45th anniversary package, 6 spd, Hurst shifter and sunroof. They were fair on the price of the car and on the trade. The only thing that fustrates me is why would they think I would back out. They have a deposit on the car etc........ Maybe this is just a symtom of our economy. BTW they have a Victory Red 2ss, 6 spd manual on the lot in stock for like 250+ days. Maybe that explains his reasoning. These people have been more than patient with me. Thanks for all the replies and I hopefully will be joining the 5th gen ranks soon.

Well I made my decision and finalized the purchase. I scratched the camaro plan and will be buying a Scion TC with the loud muffler package..................................
Kidding...... on the way will be a 2012 45th Anniversary 2SS, 6-Spd Manual, with the Hurst shifter and a sunroof. Never had a car with a sunroof before so I hope I made the right choice. Dealer already changed the order and it is already at Status code 2500 I believe.

Dealers like Autos because they are easier to sell to shiftless americans. Manual all the way for me.
