Absolutely depressing to see so much discussion supposedly about how to make the ZL1 look good and no one mentions the fugly spoiler. It is UGLY!!!! It should be a delete option!!! Not having one would make the stripes look better, too. Your generation seems obsessed by surfboards on your trunks. duh? You know damned well you do it because of peer pressure and yet who amongst you will step up and tell your peers they are wrong to want to ruin the looks of their vehicles by sticking crap on the trunk? I suggest a rereading of The Emperor's New Clothes. It explains well why people do dumb things. Oh yeah...... spoilers give downforce above 160 mph so that makes it right for everyone to have them, right? Oh... NOW I get it.......... NOT!!!

You're the only one who constantly complains about the spoiler. Not only is it a functional piece, I'd say the majority of people like it. You're pretty much alone on this one, no matter how many times you call it fugly and cry about it.

It ain't going anywhere so deal with it.

and

Deleting the spoiler for ‘looks’ is the equivalent of what you are assuming ‘our generation’ is obsessed with doing by adding ‘surfboards’ to our trunks. The spoiler is wind tunnel tested to balance the car and add downforce - and I assure you it works below 160. Even if it didn’t, this is a car built for the race track and it will easily be able to get above 160 on a regular basis. That simple fact alone is argument enough for ZL1 to need a spoiler over a lesser car.

What generation are you suggesting ‘we’ are from? Making generalizations like that make your arguments look even less solid than they already did.

Peer Pressure? Fugly? DUH? NOT? (what generation are you from, anyway?)

Feel free to remove the rear spoiler from your ZL1 if you believe that it detracts from the look of the vehicle, however, remember that the vehicle will have been validated for use with the rear spoiler in place. If you don't plan on driving the vehicle, and just want to look at it, you shouldn't suffer any negative consequences from removing the rear spoiler.

The rear spoiler is functional and does provide down force at speeds below 160 MPH. The ZL1 will be capable of reaching speeds over 190 MPH, and for those that drive the vehicle close to that speed, they will need all the down force they can get.

The Emperor's New Clothes is a totally inappropriate analogy to use with respect to the ZL1, because in the tale, the Emperor cares for nothing but his appearance and attire. The ZL1 is about high performance first, while its appearance is a secondary concern.

I am sorry guy but I think you are in the minority with this one. I personally love the bigger rear spoiler. It is not the smaller spoiler of the SS and it is not the winged thing from the Transformer car. You can take your's off and fill the holes and repaint the trunk and have a ZL1 that is unique to your tastes.

This question is best answered in the photo shop thread. You might have to wait a tad, but they will get around to it.
