My point was not to dog Garrett, and I actually was giving him a compliment because he did do so well at the Rose Bowl......But LAST year he fell apart and this year was not going so well for him. I thought he should have been benched a lot last year......the one game I watched he had 5 int's
Alabama will never, as long as Saban is there, put the offense in the hands of a QB. Defense and running the ball is what we are about. QB just has to make a few plays but was hard for Greg with broken ribs the last game. McElroy will never be confused with Dan Marino or Drew Brees but he did win and win alot. He was a pretty good QB at South Lake from what I understand though. The whole point was that people "ASSUME" that the LHN gives Texas an unfair advantage because of the exposure the players get. That exposure MIGHT help them go to the next level. I think it is BS but that is what some think, plus the added revenue gained didn't help. They are now having EQUAL revenue sharing in the conference which helps all Big 12 schools, even the lower tiered ones. Texas will be fine and back to form in the near future, maybe not this year will they go undefeated but it is coming again. I just think OU is real strong this year, alot of older leadership and the experience pulls them through this weekend at RRR.........BUT the game is not played on paper and one big hit and OU's back up will have to prove he is the man....You just never know bout those things.

I still think it's funny that Sam Bradford and Colt McCoy are NFL starters right now and Tebow is a THIRD string QB.
![]() I actually feel bad for Bradford. What a shit team.

you know Oklahoma needs a NFL Team and so does Nebraska. That state would thrive on a NFL Team. You know being native from there Sam would be all over it. Sam would be awsome on a Team with many weapons for what he has to work with and what he has done I puts a smile on my face the kid is doing so well. I used to say bring Colt to Dallas and give him a Offensive line to block for him like Aikman had. He is the closest thing to Troy and Roger as a person. Class act a Shining Star and always wanting to win. |

You know I understand what you said up above on your response on why the netowrk would sway recruits your guess is as good as mine. However You know if Every provider picked up the LHN Texas would not play every game on the LHN. They only play a few on ESPN as it is maybe 2 a year and they play most of the others on ABC ( Texas/OU has a contract for that game on ABC ) Thats why so many are saying why should I purchase verizon fios to watch two or three games a season they cant promise to get more than a few games a year. IMO 4 games a year isnt enough. I wouldnt mind having it for everything else. Just something about my school/alumni 24/7 If this network was around back a few years ago when I chose UT I wouldnt have said im going to UT to be on the LHN lol It was talked about last fall and RB malcolm brown didnt come here for the network. I wish the Aggies would have agreed to the Lonestar network and all of us who WERE in the Big12 from Texas could show The US how much we live on TEXAS ( the state ) Football. Hell I wish we had a Texas HS Football network it would be bigger than any college network ![]() People dont understand in Texas Friday nights folks drive across the state and clog interstates to watch HS football. Saturday you make sure you are home to watch either your Texas Ag's or Texas or even Baylor. Hell I was in the hospital this last weekend having my first born son watching the Aggie/Arkansas Game and the Baylor and Kstate game. ( i would have loved to see it UT/arkansas THATS A BLOOD RIVAL GAME ) its what we do in Texas we love football no matter who is playing. My Son layed there staring at me wondering WTF is he screaming at lol He will soon learn more this weekend lol And of course Sunday we all watch Dallas win or lose. If a recruit comes to Texas for a freaking network well he needs to have his head examined. You know and I know a lot of kids come to school for the tradition of winning and for what the school represents. Only instate kids will respect the traditions of A&M. You step on the field hear aggieland and the spirit and it gives you chills. ( State of Texas Fans at there best ) You step into DKR and hear TEXAS FIGHTTTTTTTTT over and over as it gives you chills or you step into lubbock and hear MArch grandioso under the lights and say to yourself hey if we are losing at halftime atleast we have the best parties in the parkinglot waiting for us lol I really dont know. |

Now Mizzou?
Ok, so apparently last night the Missouri University curators voted to explore leaving the BIG XII.....talk about fashionably late.
Get this, the reason they are doing this now.... "What brings us here tonight is that the Big 12 Conference is now requesting that its members make binding, long-term irrevocable commitments to the conference," said Steve Owens, interim president of the four-campus University of Missouri system. "We don't fault the Big 12 Conference. It is something it should be doing in order to promote stability." HUH? The Big XII wants a commitment from members (that Mizzou voted for) to remain viable and that's why they're looking at leaving? ![]() Ok, I'm confused now. |

I can step in and say I know this answer because I heard a snip clip shown on ESPN of the the press confrence. Deloss Dodds of Texas and OU's PResident both spoke about making the big12 a better place for the future now that we have a New leader taking the helm over Beebe. OU's president was the one mainly speaking and he said thsi up and down up and down story is getting old so to stop this we want every team to make a committment that they want to play in the big12 and if they do choose to leave early then they will have to pay a buyout and it will be large. The reason for this All big12 teams in April signed a contract with televison networks to put Big12 teams on national Tv during certain games. When every one in the Big12 signed everything was set in stone this meaning a university pays a little to receive a little.... yopu scratch mine I scratch yours ( I thought a school signed so they could be on Tv and make $$$ at the same time im seeing its more of a $$$ deal for the network to get there share of course lol ) however when a&m decided to leave it brought up situations where after they leave every team will have to pay there ( a&m's part they agreed to ) in the contract. So by saying you are signing a long term contract if you leave you have to pay your way out. Not saying you cant leave just saying if you committ to something then you need to pay your dues. imo its fair. Obviously MU likes everything right now but are looking down the road and dont like they have to pay $$$$$$ which is something we all know they dont really have to much of compared to OU's , UT's and OKie St's. if they dont know if they are happy or not then I dont want them to be honest. Misourri im shocked would leave Kansas behind. That basketball Rivalry is huge and much larger than there football team. Schools need to think about all around Sports not just football. |
