Someone just showed me how to use a calculator so I wanted to show off my new skill. They had to tell me what numbers to put it but I pushed the buttons and you guys can never take that away from me.

Probably a wise choice. Not too familiar with the 4L80E, but if nitrous is still on the horizon, maybe think about a hardened input shaft if it isn't beefed up already.

I concur. Plus there's no way I'd pay over $1000 for that as much as I'd like to get the learning experience. And I see Kyle's point though that you wouldn't feel as safe driving your car with a bunch of people at beave who don't know what they're doing.

Yeah... they lost me a long time ago. I'm too cool for math.

The more events the merrier... go do what you wanna do!

They are both clearly different programs for different wants/needs and both have their place. No ones forcing you to go to either one of them!

Now go drive it like you rented it!

If you wanna do some laps for fun, go to beaver
If you want to do intense training with an instructor, go to mid-ohio
If you want to get your comp license, go to the SCCA Driver school, indianapolis
If you want to race NASA and SCCA, go to mid ohio license classes

Its pretty simple really.

I'll go to beaver because I like to drive fast, and I'd like to go to SCCA school, or Mid Ohio because I'd like my comp license.

So tell me when anyones doing either and I"M IN!

2010 Camaro SS modified extensively. I stretched the body to make it a 4 door, but I swapped in the 3.6L DI V6 for fuel economy. Then I picked up a corvette body around the V8. I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

Wish I had the money to do that, but I live off my single teacher salary and have recently discovered life living on one person's salary. I even do extra such as coaching and don't have time for another job, but this summer I'll def be working. Work my life away to survive I guess.....

Maybe it's possible to get a sponsorship?

You need a new tranny already? I feel like I hear of people needing new trannys in these cars all the time. How long have you had this one? Hope mine doesn't go out anytime soon. Those are not cheap.

Jaylin... she needs a new tranny bc her car has too much torque and HP and it can't hold it.... You're fine!

I'm done with the MidOhio -vs- BR discussion. Do what you want. BTW 5 FULL HOURS on the track is WAY TOO MUCH. These are street cars guys, 5 hours of intense driving is several tanks of fuel and probably a full set of tires... Not to mention brake pads and fluid.

One day at a track event and everyone wants to be a race car driver

LOL!

MarioKart64 made me wanna be a race car driver. I wish I was as good in real life as I was on that game. If I'm Yoshi-- I'm frickin UNSTOPPABLE!

bring it on, biatches!

I might be in for a track day next year. Depends on how my career change goes and how the finances are. I'll surely have more mod money/play money than I do now though. Things aren't in the cards right now because I'm quitting my FT job in 3 weeks to go my clinical rotation. Eeek! So I can't do anything on the 29th for sure.

Kyle, having done Beaverun I have to say your impression of it isn't quite right. Your not comfortable with people that don't know how to do high speed driving in a powerful car? Lol. What are others to think when you are out on the track? We did 25 minutes on 25 minutes off. 25 minutes at a time was almost to much. I went through 3/4 tank of gas, completely shredded my front tires and was totally physically and mentally exhausted at the end of my one day. I had an absolute blast. I've been told that Mid-Ohio is brutal on your car. If you are going to do 3 straight days I would suggest getting in serious workout mode for a few months first and take a rental car again. Beaverun is well worth the money the instructors are all certified and do a great job of keeping you safe while teaching you how to go fast on a track. They teach you track etiquette, flag signals, how to attack the corners, passing etc. Probably all the exact same stuff you are learning at mid-Ohio. Have fun and be safe

Well I was aware that hers had more torque than mine and that was a likely cause, but just checkin'.

So I'm having the hardest time with the SCCA website and getting registered as a member. Every time I click on what I need to register it redirects me back to the home page. So frustrating. Uggh. And I really wanted to race autox this Sunday too. I've already used up my two weekend passes and need to become a member NOW!!

The stock tranny is meant for the stock power. My power isn't stock anymore. I've been planning to upgrade the tranny anyway. I honestly don't think the stock tranny is slipping. I think the drag radials just slipped on they dyno. Either way, I'm going to upgrade the transmission.
