Ok so heres the deal. Where im at its almost impossible to get 93 oct. Everyone has 91 oct. There is one or two stations that have 93 but its 10% ethanol. Is this even worth doing if I can only get pure 91 octane with no ethanol. Or would it be worth driving clear across town to get 93 with ethanol in it.

Yes. It would be worth doing if you are in fact on the low spark table.

My car was a demo and has 800 miles when I got it, don't know what fuel was used during those 800 miles. I have half a tank left from dealer fillup (don't know what he filled it with but more than likely 87), so when I get to empty I will fill her up with highest octane I can find then I will bring her home and pull the fuses. Let you know how it works.

Dumb question but are you sure you put the fuses back in the correct spot and pushed all the way down? Never heard of this happening.

I was leaving that post for someone else. It's quite easy to put the front most fuse in the wrong hole

Should run a tank or 2 of 91 or pull the fuses again after a couple of tanks if you don't notice a difference. I was going to do the same as you but i remember someone said run a couple tanks first of the good stuff.

Starts now and seems to run better, but the check engine light won't turn off. Maybe it'll clear later.
Thanks

I'm gussing you threw a code by putting fuse in wrong location and turning the key. There is likely nothing wrong except the code needs to be cleared. Buy a $39 code analyzer at local pasrts store..get the one that tells you what it means and will clear it also

The code cleared without an analyzer. It was worth pulling fuses: the car seems much quicker!

Best free mod ever!
Did it last night.
Today it was a different car. You could hear it deeper, and more defined combustion pulses.
It pulls stronger throughout the rpm range.
I told the salesman at the dealership about it. He seemed surprised.
I am using Chevron 94 because it has no ethanol.
Dooooo iiiitttt!

My salesman said they use low grade fuel when they fill it up prior to the sale. I've run through 1 full tank of 93, and am half way through my second of 93 right now.

Pulled fuses just now, going to tape a reminder to my keys to put the fuses back before attempting to start it. Don't want a check engine light like Dueclaws.

Hope it improves performance. It doesn't feel sluggish, but it doesn't feel like what I'd expect 426hp to feel like. Now I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow.
