So they put the Equinox front end on the Colorado...interesting choice. I will wait to see it in person before I jump to conclusions.

The interior is lightyears ahead of the current trucklet.

Yeah the front end reminds me of the Equinox's front end the grill and the head lights and everything. I think they should bring it here for people in the US to buy. I think they could have a hit on their hands with this new Colorado. My dad has a current one and this looks like a much needed upgrade. I like it!

It will have to have a gas engine option for the States. As long as diesel fuel is priced higher than gas, straight diesel engine lineup will be a sales disaster here. It's just how it is. There's your stupid and insane reason why diesels won't sell here. Not to mention it's kinda homely. Not butt-ugly, but that "great personality" type of thing going for it.

Of course, if it's aimed at potential Tacoma buyers, you can't worry about looks in a truck if you're looking at Tacomas anyway.

Read the title of the thread...OVERSEAS-spec. The NA-spec model will be built at Wentzville.

Again, read the title of the thread...the US-spec model will more than likely have a gasoline option.

And yes, diesel is priced higher than gasoline but I would gladly pay more for it. I'd be getting more for my money IMO.

Similar displacements but different power outputs.
Lots of reasons:
  • People perceive diesel as 'dirty'
  • Price of diesel engines
  • People think diesels are noisy
  • Price of diesel fuel
  • People are stupid

Its a bit too cutezy imo. GM should have styled it to be a bit more Bold/Aggressive.

If it comes to the US I'll trade my '06 Canyon for it in a second. If not I'm getting a Terrain next Spring.

Stick a gasoline V8 in it (or a larger turbo-diesel), get closer to the concept interior dash center stack, and GM will have my order placed the next day

I don't haul a lot of stuff and I'm so used to driving my S-10 Blazer, that I don't need nor do I feel comfortable in a full-size truck.

A bonus would be to have a 4WD system that is easy to modify. You can bet your ass if I get one of these, it's getting a lift kit and bigger tires

Maybe the point is that they want to sell in EU and other countries to, where the taxes on anything above a 2.0 liter (be it diesel, or petrol) are huge...

To give you an idea: my yearly tax for the Range Rover Sport, a 2.7 V6 diesel, with 190bhp is 800 Euro or 1070 USD...
