Become a cop or firefighter and get another check at 58!

10 years in the Marine Corps. Picked up Major on Monday 3 Oct (been getting paid for it since 1 Oct, but that was a weekend). My order is my promotion present!!! 38 years old and no, I was not prior enlisted...just started the career I love a few years late!

Working since 14. But Chevy Quality is what got me mine. I'm 6'2" and I've been driving a single cab LS S10 for 8 years. Still have it. Saved so much money on gas, etc. At 31 finally getting what I want, well worth it. Yeah I should have got the SS, but after I rented one and went through a tank of gas in a 24hr period, it didnt fit. Kid has to eat. Plenty of mods for my base model.

Im 23 now but bought my SS when I was 21, I work as a Automotive Technician for a GM dealership. Its all about being smart with your money and kicking ass on flat rate pay lol! There has been a bunch of times where Im at work for 12-13 hours and get paid 20+ hours because I can work faster then what flat rate pays, even when I work for 8 hours on average Im getting paid for 10-14 hours of work depending on the day and what work comes in.

On the flip side it SUCKS when your at work for 8 hours on a slow day and only get paid for 4-5 hours because there is no work...god i hate days like that!!

Im 44 and have been in Law Enforcement for 23 years. If I hadn't changed departments I would be able to retire in a couple years, but I have 12 years left. A Sergeant now in my department but my wife is a RN so she is a big reason I get to keep buying the toys.

Self employed. I used to write 5 axis cnc programs for a company by the name of baker hughes and psi automation. Pretty good gig. Go to their local office pickup prints and write the programs from home and send it back on a disc. Only had to show up and inspect a prototype every now n then.

Teacher. Taught for 20 years, took early retirement, and take-home pay is 25 % more than when I worked. Not a bad deal!

USAF, not a bad deal. It can get you an SS...and also take you away from it for 6-12mo at a time.
