so i was driving behind a lambo the other night and when he shifted blue flames came out the exhaust. How and why does this happen?
i know its a random ??? But im just wondering...

excess gas not being burned, at least that's how it is with older cars. Must have a modified exhaust or none at all

Modified exhaust. No cats. Remember, it's mid engine, so the pipe is very short.

It's pretty common in Rear Engine cars such as Lamborghini's and Ferrari's. Instead of having 14 feet of exhaust piping and mufflers. These cars have no more then 3 feet of piping. The flames is unburned gas. Pretty Cool I know!

Yeah but it looks HELLA sweet!! Plus, if you're farting around in a Ferrari I reckon gas prices are pretty far down on your list of things to worry about.

so it can be done? safely? and possibly to a switch to turn off and on?
