I have a hard time believing this, mainly because we have heard from higher-ups that the design of the car is about 70% complete in terms of design (or maybe I'm imagining that . . .) and while engines will count for some of that, I'm sure that at least 1 has been decided by now. Also, we have two posts where you claim to be on the inside but there isn't a whole lot of proof. Unfortunately there isn't much that you can do to prove your claims either. However, there are two members here that we are as sure as we can be that they are from GM and know details pertaining to the new Camaro. Please understand that I am not saying that you are a fraud, I'm just not convinced you are who you claim. And if you are on the inside, take Dragons advice, and tell us only what you know you can. As much as we want to know everything, we would rather get a continous stream of info and you having a job

These huge hi-res pictures make me smile BIG and I mean BIG…

One point of positive criticism though, Scott please tell them to hide that dam shark fin antenna. It’s like a wart on the face of a perfect 10 model; better yet, it reminds me of the JACKASS in the club on the dance floor with the Bluetooth ear piece in, “RETARDED”… They can hide it on the Vette they can hid it on the Camaro…

Ok rant over… Did I mention the new hi-res pic’s make me smile BIG…

On a similar note, my fiance just bought me a new 7.2 mp digital camera to replace my 4.1 that doesn't like riding Splash Mountain quite as much as I do. RIP little buddy. :( But the new one is sooo nice! Woo.
Now that made me laugh... Thanks...

Yup Camero, I want to echo DGthe3. Working for a major theme park operator that has a number of enthusiasts just as interested in new stuff as the Camaro enthusiasts, I've learned its always wise to err on the side of caution when talking about inside stuff. One, its never worth losing your job because you revealed info you thought was ok to talk about but that really wasn't, or if you take extra care to be extra vague and not reveal too much, then you just tease the fans. So just a word of advice, resist the temptation to talk as much as possible.

fuel door

Looking at the rear bumper cover, there are two square holes punched out. When has anyone ever taken off their license plates to reveal two square holes? I know I never have, and I've done quite a bit of bodywork on quite a few cars. I'll bet anyone on this site ten dollars the fuel doors are completely omitted at this point in time. They're using the old fashioned style of filling their blessed Camaro with fuel by running it through the rear end of the beast. Either it is easier for them or they may be tossing around the idea of actually doing away with the fuel doors all together. I'm okay with that. Either put it in the right spot or don't put it on the car at all. Oh yeah, it's hard to tell since the car is white, but the quarter vents appear to be quite deep. That's a great sign. I'll bet they're cut out!!!

They look like 17" or 18" rims. The concept had 21" fronts and 22" rears, so if you like big rims, you can put just about anything on it.

The fin will probably come colour coded like the BMW one does once we are ready for production.

I still want yellow damn it, but have settled on red with white stripes (if red with white stripes is possible!!)

Are you kidding me? If the hard top version isn't offered without the sunroof/moonroof abortion, I wouldn't buy one. That belongs on a Nissan, not a Camaro. This thing just keeps going downhill, from the release date to the design/production compromises.

I'm as big of a Camaro fan as anybody else out there. I have two 69s, a 71, and a 73. I've owned at least one Camaro at all times since I bought my 74 Z/28 when I was 16. I also own a 71 Corvette and an 07 2500 4WD Duramax, and I've owned 5 other Chevy or GMC trucks. I've never owned a Chrysler product, but every time new info comes out on the Camaro that I've been patiently waiting for for years, I'm more tempted to wander across the street and put in my order for a Challenger. When are we going to hear something about the new Camaro that meets or exceeds our expectations?

Well I was thinking since you said the tail lamp lenses wern't finalized, they would be moving the reverse lights up into them and that the rear bumper cut-outs were temporary. I actually hope they don't because i don't want the inside rectangle to be reverse only like the 69. I like having all 4 lights light up at one time.

Jamey, I can understand your frustrations, I'm a little frustrated by some things too if you've seen my posts. That being said, if you hadn't seen the concept first, and many people still haven't believe it or not, would you not think it was hot and harkend back to the 69 without looking "retro"? I have to remind myself about that alot as well, but believe me, I'd like to have my expectations exceeded also, especially since somewhere I read a quote that Ed Welborne said the production version was "even better" than the concept. I'm not getting that same feeling so far, but I still like most of what I see so far. We haven't seen the front clip yet, so that could make or break it for many of us. As far as the Challenger, I saw a spy pic of the production version on autoblog.com yesterday and the wheels aren't as nice as the concept, and they have some tacky, cheap looking headlight surrounds now. Remember, other than some teaser shots from Dodge, we haven't seen the real mcCoy there either. I think it will be unveiled next week at the Detroit auto show. Anyway, as Scott says....Keep the Faith!

Actually, I've seen rear bumper covers like that on quite a few GM cars.

And as far as the vents....how can you say these look cut-out?
