I have not read it in Sanskrit. I'm good but not that good haha! I see your point, but I suppose that's true of any major religious text... oddly enough the only real exception to that is the Koran. Go figure.

A lot of the philosophy and questions of life, existence, time etc. from the Vedas particularly fascinate me to no end. The Upanisads are a great collection as well. There's some seriously mind blowing stuff in there.

Thumbs up Dialectics and dialectical materialism, yeah!

Wow, I almost forgot to mention the philosophers who influenced my youth: Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel of Germany and
Herbert Marcuse also of Germany.

I also read, and was perhaps influenced subconsciously by Immanuel Kant's categorical imperative.

Vladimir Ilich Lenin of Russia
Nikolai Bukharin of Russia
Ernesto Guevara of Argentina
had their effects as well, especially Lenin and Che.

From the point of view of the one percent who control ninety percent of society's wealth I suppose it must be very worrisome to have the rest of us learning about taking our rightful place in the sun. They've had it their way so long they think it's the only way. Silly people.

I consider myself a Thomistic Realist. I'm indebted to Augustine and Aquinas. I also appreciate the contributions of Wojtyla's personalism in modern Roman Catholic thought. His personalistic norm should provide a basis for all philosophical thought about man, not only in the moral, but also the social and economic.

They became the 1%. Problem is, they destroyed the other 99% to get there.

silly....for what? Hating despots? Violating peoples' most basic human rights? Essentially they traded one group of privileged aholes for another group of aholes.

I don't think were on the same page, bro'. The "silly people" of whom I spoke are the 1% lording it over the rest of us who think their gonna' stay in the cat bird seat. Despots, human rights and trading of assholes were not discussed, nor were they even implied.

Their silliness derives from their hubris. Bottom rail gonna' be on top one of these days is all I'm sayin'.

Oh I have your number alright - your list of "philosophers".

I'd be willing to bet your college age, wear your Che Guevera tshirt as much as possible, and rail against the "inequities" and "robber barons", and other such nonsense. I'm sure you've never considered that the "1%" got there through hard work. No, its all about secret societies and taking advantage of the poor.
